Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company engaged in making of jig, special tools and machines spare part industry, one client of PT. XYZ is PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia. One of the products that are being did is finishing welding jig. Finishing welding jig producing swing arm klx 150cc were no longer running optimally due failure. The goal of the research is to identify the cause of the failure type & jig finishing welding to produce swing arm klx 150cc motorbike belong to PT. KMI, giving the proposed improvements and proposed design to to PT. KMI in making finishing welding jig to reduce the level of disability on swing arm klx 150cc motorbike. the method used is a Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) supported with Faulth Tree Analysis (FTA) and Pareto Diagram. This type of failure and the results of the analysis include: first: the failure of the center vent tube hole against the middle joint which does not enter the tolerance value of the RPN of 648. Second: the failure of the center vent tube against sloting on left arm and a right arm that does not enter the tolerance value of the RPN of 504. Third: the failure on the width of the left arm and right arm arm did not enter the tolerance value of the RPN of 504. Fourth: the failure on symmetry width left arm and right arm against the length of the tube does not enter the tolerance value of the RPN amounted to 336. Fifth: the failure on the unity of the wick hole tube, sloting the left arm, and the arm right sloting unreasonable tolerance with the value of the RPN of 504. The proposed improvements and proposed new design finishing welding jig for PT. KMI can be seen in chapter 4. Key word: Jig Finishing Welding, FMEA, FTA PT.XYZ merupakan perusahaan manufacturing yang bergerak dibidang pebuatan jig, spesial tool dan spare part mesin-mesin industri, salah satu client dari PT. XYZ adalah PT. Kawasaki Motor Indonesia. Salah satu produk yang sedang dijalani adalah jig finishing welding. Jig finishing welding yang memproduksi swing arm klx 150cc sudah tidak lagi berjalan optimal dikarenakan adanya kegagalan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengidentifikasi jenis & penyebab kegagalan jig finishing welding untuk memproduksi swing arm klx 150cc milik PT. KMI, memberikan usulan perbaikan dan usulan design kepada kepada PT. KMI dalam pembuatan jig finishing welding untuk mengurangi tingkat kecacatan pada produk swing arm klx 150cc. Metode yang digunakan adalah Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) yang didukung dengan Faulth Tree Analysis (FTA) dan diagram pareto. Jenis kegagalan dan hasil analisa antara lain yaitu pertama: kegagalan pada jarak center lubang tube terhadap lubang middle joint yang tidak masuk toleransi dengan nilai RPN sebesar 648. Kedua: kegagalan pada jarak center lubang tube terhadap sloting pada left arm dan right arm yang tidak masuk toleransi dengan nilai RPN sebesar 504. Ketiga: kegagalan pada lebar left arm dan right arm arm yang tidak masuk toleransi dengan nilai RPN sebesar 504. Keempat: kegagalan pada kesimetrisan lebar left arm dan right arm terhadap panjang tube yang tidak masuk toleransi dengan nilai RPN sebesar 336. Kelima: kegagalan pada kesatuan sumbu lubang tube, sloting left arm ,dan sloting right arm yang tidak masuk toleransi dengan nilai RPN sebesar 504.Usulan perbaikan dan usulan design jig finishing welding yang baru untuk PT.KMI dapat dilihat pada bab 4.
