Abstract
Micro Hydro Power (MHP) is one power plant that utilizes water as a turbine driver that can generate electricity with the help of a generator. Hydrocoil turbine is also known as a helical drive power generator because the turbine has a helical-shaped angle coil. Hydrocoil turbines are capable of working on head and low water rates. Hydrocoil turbine is a reaction turbine, therefore a draft tube added to the turbine output side is added. Draft Tube is useful to enlarge the value of the head because the draft tube is able to restore the flow of water flow through it. In addition, the draft tube will also maximize the potential of the turbine. This research is focused on the influence of tube draft length and tilt on hydrocoil turbine on its performance by using CFD method with ANSYS CFX. This analysis was performed on a draft tube slope experiment with three stages at first with draft tube length of 0.5 meters draft tube with a slope of 8 degrees, draft tube length of 0.75 meters with a slope of 9 degrees and a draft tube length of 1 meter with a slope of 10 degrees with rate of 100 rpm to 1900 rpm. Based on obtained data from the simulation that has been run the best performance is at 1300 rpm rotation with the value of efficiency 99.00% with draft tube slope 10 degrees.
