Abstract

Aplikasi berbasis web kini berkembang pesat dengan alasan mudah dalam pengembangan dan lintas platform. Sampai saat ini belum ada suatu sistem yang efisien dalam memberikan pengumuman mengenai dosen pada Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Mercu Buana. Beberapa permasalahan yang sering muncul adalah kebanyakan mahasiswa yang ingin menemui dosen tidak sabar menunggu di ruangan tunggu dan dengan tanpa izin masuk ke ruangan pribadi dosen. Permasalahan lain yaitu tidak ada sistem yang mempermudah dosen dalam mengumumkan informasi maupun berita yang terkait, contohnya banyak mahasiswa yang kebingungan dengan jadwal bimbingan para dosen yang sering berganti-ganti dan dosen tidak selalu memberitahukan ke petugas TU Fasilkom. Atas dasar masalah ini penulis membuat skripsi yang berjudul "Sistem Komunikasi Dosen dan Mahasiswa berbasis web studi kasus Fasilkom Universitas Mercu Buana". Metode yang digunakan dalam membangun sistem ini yaitu Metode Waterfall. Metode dimulai dari pendefinisian kebutuhan lalu analisa, desain, implementasi, pengujian dan pemeliharaan sistem. Dengan adanya sistem informasi ini diharapkan, mahasiswa dapat dengan mudah mengakses keberadaan dosen di ruangan dan sebaliknya dosen dapat meng-update pengumuman yang berkaitan. Until now there has not been an efficient system to make an announcement regarding a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science University Mercu Buana. Some of the problems that often arises is that most students who want to meet with lecturers not wait in the waiting room and into the room without permission private lecturer. Another problem is there is no system that makes lecturer in announcing information and news related to, for example, many students are confused with the guidance of their professors schedule floater and lecturers do not always tell the officer TU Fasilkom. On the basis of this problem the author makes a thesis entitled "Sistem Komunikasi Dosen dan Mahasiswa berbasis web studi kasus Fasilkom Universitas Mercu Buana". The method are used to building this system is Waterfall Method. The method starts from the definition and requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of the system. With the information system is expected, students can easily access where a lecturer at the faculty room and instead can update the related information of announcement.
