Abstract

Sistem informasi akademik Universitas Mercu Buana atau bisa disebut SIA UMB adalah sebuah perangkat lunak yang mengolah dan menyajikan data-data akademik berbasis web. Sistem informasi akademik pada sebuah universitas merupakan sesuatu yang sangat penting bagi para mahasiswa, dosen, dan karyawan kampus itu sendiri untuk mengakses berbagai data tentang akademik yang dapat dilakukan dimanapun dan kapanpun selama mereka terhubung dalam jaringan internet. Sistem informasi akademik dapat digunakan untuk melihat nilai, mengisi atau memperbaiki kartu rencana studi, mengunduh materi kuliah, mengunggah tugas kuliah, mengajukan kuliah pengganti, menyetujui atau menolak kartu rencana studi mahasiswa yang bermasalah secara akademik, dan berbagai informasi atau pemberitahuan tentang akademik. Berdasarkan uraian di atas, maka dibutuhkanlah sistem informasi akademik yang mampu mengintegrasikan proses-proses yang terjadi pada akademik kedalam sebuah informasi yang dapat menyimpan dan mengolah ribuan data akademik dari tahun ke tahun secara sistematis. Program aplikasi SIA ini dirancang dengan memperhatikan kemudahan bagi pengguna yang akan menggunakannya. Dalam perancangan perangkat lunak ini, penulis menggunakan metode waterfall dengan pendekatan berorientasi objek yang terbagi menjadi tiga model jenis diagram yaitu adalah: Activity Diagram untuk menjelaskan alur proses bisnis, Use Case Diagram untuk menjelaskan fungsi atau layanan yang disediakan oleh sistem, dan Sequance Diagram untuk menjelaskan interaksi pengguna dengan sistem. Dalam implementasi penulis menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan framework codeigniter (CI). Untuk sistem manajemen basis data menggunakan MySQL Kata Kunci : Sistem Informasi Akademik, prototipe Academic information system Mercu Buana University or can be called SIA UMB is a software process and present the data in a web -based academic. Academic information system at a university is something that is very important for students, faculty, and campus employees themselves to access a variety of data about the academic can be done anywhere and anytime as long as they are connected to the Internet. Academic information systems can be used to see the value, fill or repair the study plan card, download the course material, upload coursework, filed a lecture replacement, approve or reject the plan of study cards academically troubled students, and a variety of academic information or notification. Based on the above, then dibutuhkanlah academic information system capable of integrating the processes that occur in academic into an information which can store and process thousands of academic data from year to year systematically. SIA application program is designed with ease for the user who will use it. In software design, the author uses the waterfall method with object -oriented approach which is divided into three types of diagram that models are : Activity diagram to describe the business process flow, Use Case Diagram to explain the functions or services provided by the system, and sequance diagram to explain user interaction with the system.
