Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang antarmuka aplikasi tanda tangan elektronik Universitas Mercu Buana menggunakan pendekatan User-Centered Design (UCD) serta mengevaluasi tingkat usability dengan metode System Usability Scale (SUS). Transformasi digital di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi menuntut adanya sistem administrasi yang lebih efisien, cepat, dan paperless, sementara proses persetujuan dokumen konvensional yang masih mengandalkan tanda tangan manual sering menimbulkan kendala berupa keterlambatan, ketergantungan pada kehadiran fisik, serta risiko kehilangan atau kerusakan dokumen. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode UCD secara adaptif melalui tahapan memahami konteks penggunaan, mengidentifikasi kebutuhan pengguna, merancang solusi desain, dan melakukan evaluasi. Proses perancangan menghasilkan wireframe, sitemap, user flow diagram, mockup, hingga prototipe interaktif yang dikembangkan menggunakan Figma dengan mempertimbangkan prinsip usability seperti konsistensi visual, kejelasan navigasi, keterbacaan informasi, dan efisiensi interaksi. Fitur utama yang dirancang meliputi pengajuan dokumen, penentuan posisi tanda tangan secara visual, manajemen profil pengguna, proses persetujuan (approval), penandatanganan (signing), serta verifikasi QR code. Validasi kebutuhan pengguna dilakukan melalui kuesioner, sementara evaluasi usability dilakukan menggunakan SUS terhadap 50 responden dari sivitas akademika Universitas Mercu Buana. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan skor rata-rata SUS sebesar 81.05 yang berada dalam kategori “Excellent” dan termasuk tingkat acceptable, mengindikasikan bahwa desain antarmuka yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi aspek kemudahan penggunaan, efisiensi, dan kepuasan pengguna. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan UCD efektif dalam menghasilkan desain antarmuka yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna serta memberikan dasar yang kuat untuk pengembangan sistem lebih lanjut. An adaptive UCD methodology was applied, including understanding the context of use, identifying user requirements, developing design solutions, and conducting evaluation. The design process produced wireframes, a sitemap, user flow diagrams, mockups, and an interactive prototype developed using Figma, guided by usability principles such as visual consistency, clear navigation, information readability, and interaction efficiency. The prototype features include document submission, visual signature placement, user profile management, approval workflows, signing processes, and QR code verification. User requirements were validated through questionnaires, and usability evaluation was conducted using SUS with 50 respondents from Mercu Buana University’s academic community. The evaluation yielded an average SUS score of 81.05, classified as “Excellent” and within the acceptable usability range, indicating that the interface design meets key usability aspects, including ease of use, efficiency, and user satisfaction. These findings demonstrate that the UCD approach effectively supports the development of user-oriented interface designs and provides a strong foundation for further system development. This research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of electronic signature applications in academic environments, supporting the modernization of campus administrative processes through more effective, efficient, and user-friendly digital solutions.
