Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of academic stress, sources of stress, and academic stress reactions in final year students who are preparing their final assignments at University X, West Jakarta. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach involving 63 students selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Student Life Stress Inventory (SLSI) which has met the criteria for validity and reliability (α = 0.939). The results showed that the majority of students were in the moderate academic stress category (71.4%), with academic pressure as the most dominant source of stress (Mean = 13.09), especially related to time demands and thesis completion. The most common stress reactions were emotional reactions (Mean = 12.66), such as anxiety and feelings of depression. Students in the seventh and eighth semesters showed higher levels of stress compared to other semesters. These findings indicate the need for more responsive academic support for final year students. Kata kunci: stres akademik, mahasiswa, tugas akhir, Student-Life Stress Inventory, survei
