Abstract
Migrant students who study while working are required to carry out dual roles as both students and workers, which often leads to various challenges such as difficulties in paying tuition fees, obstacles in building social relationships, difficulties in completing assignments on time, and fatigue due to tight academic and work schedules. These conditions may cause stress, emotional imbalance, and decreased academic motivation, ultimately affecting their psychological wellbeing. This study aims to examine the empirical relationship between academic hardiness and psychological well-being among migrant students who study while working in Jakarta. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method, involving 220 migrant student respondents studying while working in Jakarta. The instruments used were the Academic Hardiness Scale (AHS) by Creed (2001) and the Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS) by Fadhil (2021). The results showed a significant positive relationship between academic hardiness and psychological well-being, with an R value of 0.842 (p = 0.000), indicating that the higher the academic hardiness, the higher the psychological well-being of migrant students who study while working in Jakarta. Keywords: Academic Hardiness, Psychological Well-Being, Migrant Student Mahasiswa perantau yang berkuliah sambil bekerja dituntut menjalankan dua peran sekaligus, yaitu sebagai mahasiswa dan pekerja, sehingga sering menghadapi berbagai permasalahan seperti kesulitan membayar SPP, hambatan menjalin hubungan sosial, kesulitan mengumpulkan tugas tepat waktu, serta kelelahan akibat padatnya jadwal kuliah dan pekerjaan. Kondisi tersebut dapat menimbulkan stres, ketidakseimbangan emosional, serta penurunan motivasi akademik yang berdampak pada psychological well-being. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan empiris antara academic hardiness dengan psychological well-being pada mahasiswa perantau yang berkuliah sambil bekerja di Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional, melibatkan 220 responden mahasiswa perantau yang berkuliah sambil bekerja di Jakarta. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Academic Hardiness Scale (AHS) oleh Creed (2001) dan Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS) oleh Fadhil (2021). Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara academic hardiness dengan psychological well-being dengan nilai R sebesar 0,842 (p = 0,000), yang berarti semakin tinggi academic hardiness maka semakin tinggi pula psychological well-being pada mahasiswa perantau yang berkuliah sambil bekerja di Jakarta.
