Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and academic procrastination among students at a private university in Jakarta. Academic procrastination is a problem often experienced by many students. One of the factors related to the emergence of academic procrastination is self-efficacy. This study uses a quantitative correlational research method with a sample size of 158 students obtained through a non-probability sampling technique using accidental sampling. The measuring instrument for the academic procrastination variable is the Academic Procrastination Scale-Short Form (APS-S) developed by McCloskey (2011), while the self-efficacy variable uses the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) by Schwarzer and Jerusalem (1995) based on Bandura's theory. The results of the study were conducted using the Spearman-Rho analysis method, the results of which showed that there was a significant negative relationship between selfefficacy and academic procrastination, which indicated that the higher the selfefficacy, the lower the students' academic procrastination behavior, and vice versa, the lower the self-efficacy, the higher the academic procrastination behavior. Keywords: self-efficacy, academic procrastination, students Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk megetahui hubungan antara self-efficacy dan prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa Universitas Swasta di DKI Jakarta. Prokrastinasi akademik menjadi masalah yang seringkali di alami oleh banyak mahasiswa. Salah satu faktor yang berhubungan dengan munculnya prokrastinasi akademik adalah self-efficacy. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 158 mahasiswa yang diperoleh melalui teknik sampling non-probability menggunakan accidental sampling. Alat ukur pada variabel prokrastinasi akademik diukur menggunakan Academic Procrastination Scale-Short Form (APS-S) yang dikembangkan oleh McCloskey (2011) sedangkan pada variabel self-efficacy menggunakan General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) oleh Schwarzer dan Jerusalem (1995) berdasarkan teori Bandura. Hasil penelitian dilakukan dengan metode analisis spearman-rho yang hasilnya menunjukan terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara self-efficacy dengan prokrastinasi akademik yang mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi self-efficacy maka semakin rendah mahasiswa melakukan perilaku prokrastinasi akademik dan sebaliknya semakin rendah self-efficacy maka akan meningkatkan perilaku prokrastinasi akademik.
