Abstract
This study analyzes inventory control at PT Eco Baby Indonesia with the main objective of minimizing total inventory costs. The research addresses two questions: the amount of current inventory costs and the most effective method among Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Period Order Quantity (POQ), and Lot for Lot (LFL). A quantitative approach was used by calculating and comparing the Total Inventory Cost (TIC) of the three methods based on actual 2024 data, which includes ordering costs, holding costs, and variations in lead time. The findings reveal that the LFL method provides the lowest TIC compared to EOQ and POQ. This method aligns order quantities with actual demand for each period, thereby eliminating excess holding costs. Although LFL increases the frequency of orders and, consequently, ordering costs, its overall impact results in lower total costs. This characteristic is particularly advantageous for PT Eco Baby Indonesia as a distributor of perishable goods, where minimizing inventory levels reduces the risk of stock obsolescence. In conclusion, the LFL method is considered the most optimal strategy for reducing inventory costs at PT Eco Baby Indonesia. The results emphasize the importance of adaptive inventory control in distribution businesses. Future research is recommended to explore the integration of technology-driven inventory management and the application of lean inventory principles. Keywords: Inventory Control, EOQ, POQ, LFL, Inventory Costs, PT Eco Baby Indonesia.
