Abstract

Mixed marriages between local residents and individuals of Arab descent in Bogor Regency have produced a generation with diverse cultural backgrounds, in which Islamic values and Arab culture play a central role in daily life. Elementary schools function as a foundational institution for the development of children’s morality and intelligence, necessitating a learning environment that is both comfortable and tailored to students’ characteristics. This study aims to design the interior of SDIT Al Hidayah as an international Islamic school that integrates Islamic values and Arab culture, while supporting effective learning processes through considerations of aesthetics, functionality, and child psychology. The design methodology employed follows the RIBA Architectural Practice and Management Handbook (1965), as cited and simplified by Bryan Lawson (2005), comprising four stages: assimilation, general study, development, and communication. The findings indicate that the implementation of Moroccan style in SDIT Al Hidayah creates a religious, warm, and cheerful atmosphere through the integration of Islamic geometric patterns, bright and earthy tones, and natural materials. The school’s visual identity is combined with characteristic Moroccan architecture and the use of local rattan, which is functional, aesthetic, and sustainable. This design not only reinforces spiritual and cultural values but also provides a novel approach, as Moroccan style remains underutilized in educational settings, particularly at the elementary level. Keywords: Primary School Interior Design, Moroccan Style Interior Design, Islamic-Arab Culture, Learning Environment Perkawinan campuran antara warga lokal dan keturunan Arab di Kabupaten Bogor melahirkan generasi dengan latar belakang budaya beragam, di mana nilai Islam dan budaya Arab menjadi bagian penting kehidupan masyarakat. Sekolah dasar berperan sebagai pondasi pembentukan moral dan kecerdasan anak, sehingga diperlukan lingkungan belajar yang nyaman dan sesuai karakteristik siswa. SDIT Al Hidayah dirancang sebagai sekolah Islam internasional yang memadukan nilai Islam dan budaya Arab melalui desain interior. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang interior SDIT Al Hidayah yang tidak hanya mencerminkan budaya Islam dan Arab, tetapi juga mendukung mendukung proses pembelajaran yang efektif dengan mempertimbangkan aspek estetika, fungsionalitas, dan psikologi anak. Metode perancangan yang digunakan yaitu metode RIBA Architectural Practice and Management Handbook (1965) yang dikutip dan disederhanakan oleh Bryan Lawson (2005) yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu assimilation, general study, development dan communication. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Moroccan style pada SDIT Al Hidayah Kabupaten Bogor mampu menciptakan suasana religius, hangat, dan ceria melalui perpaduan pola geometris Islami, warna cerah, earthy tone, serta material alami. Identitas visual sekolah dipadukan dengan bentuk arsitektur khas Moroccan dan penggunaan rotan lokal yang fungsional, estetis, serta berkelanjutan. Desain ini tidak hanya memperkuat nilai spiritual dan budaya, tetapi juga menghadirkan alternatif baru karena Moroccan style belum banyak diterapkan pada lembaga pendidikan khususnya sekolah dasar.
