Abstract

This study aims to describe the resilience of single mothers with multiple roles after losing their partner due to death, particularly those with lower-middle economic conditions. This study uses a case study method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with single mothers who have lost their partner due to death and have multiple roles in the family. The results show that single mothers with lower-middle economic conditions have strong resilience in facing difficulties after losing their partner. They develop effective coping strategies, such as managing finances wisely, prioritizing children's needs, and seeking social support from family and community. Additionally, they also demonstrate the ability to adapt to new roles and responsibilities, and maintain hope and optimism for a better future. This study provides an overview of single mothers' resilience in facing difficulties and highlights the importance of social support and effective coping strategies in enhancing resilience. Keywords: Resilience, Single Mother, Multiple Roles, Loss of Partner, LowerMiddle Economic Condition, Coping Strategies, Social Support Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan resiliensi ibu tunggal yang memiliki multi peran setelah kehilangan pasangan karena meninggal, khususnya pada ibu tunggal dengan kondisi ekonomi menengah bawah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan ibu tunggal yang telah kehilangan pasangan karena meninggal dan memiliki multi peran dalam keluarga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ibu tunggal dengan kondisi ekonomi menengah bawah memiliki resiliensi yang kuat dalam menghadapi kesulitan setelah kehilangan pasangan. Mereka mengembangkan strategi coping yang efektif, seperti mengelola keuangan dengan bijak, memprioritaskan kebutuhan anak, dan mencari dukungan sosial dari keluarga dan komunitas. Selain itu, mereka juga menunjukkan kemampuan untuk beradaptasi dengan perubahan peran dan tanggung jawab baru, serta mempertahankan harapan dan optimisme untuk masa depan yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran tentang resiliensi ibu tunggal dalam menghadapi kesulitan dan menunjukkan pentingnya dukungan sosial dan strategi coping yang efektif dalam meningkatkan resiliensi.
