Abstract

The Kandang Roda signalized intersection is an alternative route connecting traffic from Bogor to Jakarta. The increasing number of vehicles in the area causes congestion, especially during peak hours. This study aims to evaluate and plan efficient traffic engineering to improve traffic performance. This study used the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines and PTV VISSIM software. Data was collected from a direct survey and analyzed using capacity and signal cycle time methods during peak hours. The results indicate that the Sentul road section is functioning well with a density of 0.34 and a free-flow speed of 59.30 km/h. However, the Kandang Roda signalized intersection experiences high disruption, with a degree of saturation of 1.945 and an average delay of 79.33 seconds per passenger car, indicating a service level of "F." Two proposed solutions are adjusting the signal cycle time duration and changing the signal phase settings, as well as modifying the left-turn movement. With these solutions, the service level can be increased to category "C" with significant delay reduction. Simpang bersinyal Kandang Roda merupakan jalur alternatif yang menghubungkan perherakan lalu lintas dari Bogor ke Jakarta. Peningkatan jumlah kendaraan di area tersebut menyebabkan kemacetan, terutama pada jam sibuk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi serta merencanakan rekayasa lalu lintas yang efisien sehingga kinerja lalu lintas dapat ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Pedoman Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 2023 dan perangkat lunak PTV VISSIM. Data diambil dari survei langsung dan dianalisis dengan metode kapasitas serta waktu siklus sinyal saat jam sibuk. Hasilnya menunjukkan kinerja ruas jalan Sentul berfungsi baik dengan kepadatan 0,34 dan kecepatan arus bebas 59,30 km/jam. Namun, Simpang Bersinyal Kandang Roda mengalami gangguan tinggi, dengan derajat kejenuhan 1,945 dan tundaan rata-rata 79,33 detik per mobil penumpang, menunjukkan tingkat pelayanan “F”. Dua solusi yang diusulkan adalah penyesuaian durasi waktu siklus sinyal dan perubahan pengaturan fase sinyal, serta modifikasi pergerakan belok kiri. Dengan solusi ini, tingkat pelayanan dapat meningkat menjadi kategori “D” dengan pengurangan keterlambatan signifikan.
