Abstract
Adolescence is a developmental phase characterized by the need for social acceptance and the drive for self-exploration. Peer pressure can lead individuals to adjust their behavior to be accepted within a group, while sensation seeking tendencies encourage adolescents to pursue new and challenging experiences. Both factors may influence adolescents’ involvement in sexting, which poses risks to their psychosocial development. This study examines the relationship between peer conformity and sensation seeking with sexting behavior among adolescents. A quantitative approach with a correlational method was employed. The sample consisted of 159 respondents selected through accidental sampling. Measurements were conducted using a Conformity Scale adapted from previous research, the Brief Sensation Seeking Scale–Indonesian (BSSS-I), and the Sexting Behavior Scale (SBS). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation tests. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between conformity and sexting (r = 0.372, p < 0.05). Sensation seeking was also positively correlated with sexting (r = 0.366, p < 0.05). In conclusion, both conformity and sensation seeking contribute to adolescents’ engagement in sexting behavior. Keywords: Peer Conformity, Sensation Seeking, Sexting, Adolescents Remaja berada pada fase perkembangan yang ditandai dengan kebutuhan akan penerimaan sosial dan dorongan eksplorasi diri. Tekanan teman sebaya dapat membuat individu menyesuaikan perilakunya agar diterima dalam kelompok, sedangkan kecenderungan pencarian sensasi mendorong remaja untuk mencari pengalaman baru yang menantang. Kedua faktor tersebut dapat memengaruhi keterlibatan remaja dalam perilaku sexting, yang berisiko menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap perkembangan psikososial. Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan konformitas teman sebaya dan pencarian sensasi dengan perilaku Sexting pada remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Sampel terdiri dari 159 responden yang dipilih secara accidental. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan skala Konformitas yang di adaptasi dari penelitian terdahulu, Brief Sensation Seeking Scale Indonesian (BSSS-I) dan Sexting Behavior Scale (SBS). Data dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil menunjukkan hubungan positif signifikan antara konformitas dan Sexting (r = 0.372, p < 0.05). Sensation Seeking berkorelasi positif dengan Sexting (r = 0.366, p < 0.05). Kesimpulannya, konformitas dan Sensation Seeking berperan dalam mendorong perilaku Sexting pada remaja.
