Abstract

A library is more than just a place to store books; it is a center of knowledge, a space for exploration, and a facility that supports learning and research. As an intellectual resource, the library provides access to various references, literature, and information that enable users to expand their insights, deepen their understanding, and find solutions to both academic and professional challenges. The design objective of the Taman Ismail Marzuki Library is to enhance quality of life through the application of inclusive universal design principles. This design is intended to be accessible and usable by all demographic groups, including children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. With an approach that prioritizes comfort, functionality, and accessibility, the library is expected to become a welcoming space for all users—supporting literacy, education, and social interaction without barriers. Keywords: Library, Accessibility, Design, Universal Design, Inclusive Perpustakaan merupakan sesuatu yang lebih dari sekadar tempat menyimpan buku; ia adalah pusat ilmu pengetahuan, ruang eksplorasi, serta sarana yang mendukung pembelajaran dan penelitian. Sebagai sumber daya intelektual, perpustakaan menyediakan akses ke berbagai referensi, literatur, dan informasi yang memungkinkan penggunanya untuk mengembangkan wawasan, memperdalam pemahaman, serta menemukan solusi atas berbagai permasalahan akademik maupun profesional. Tujuan perancangan Perpustakaan Taman Ismail Marzuki adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup melalui penerapan desain universal yang inklusif. Desain ini dirancang agar dapat diakses dan digunakan oleh semua kelompok demografis, termasuk anak-anak, remaja, dewasa, dan lansia. Dengan pendekatan yang memperhatikan kenyamanan, fungsionalitas, serta aksesibilitas, perpustakaan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi ruang yang ramah bagi semua pengguna, mendukung kegiatan literasi, edukasi, serta interaksi sosial tanpa hambatan.
