Abstract

The South Jakarta Public Library, as a literacy facility, requires an interior design that creates a comfortable, functional, and appealing environment to enhance reading interest and learning activities among the community. The main issues identified include suboptimal space planning, inadequate lighting, and a lack of atmosphere that supports visitor comfort and concentration. Therefore, this study aims to design the library's interior with an approach that prioritizes ergonomics and aesthetics. The methods used include user needs analysis, literature review, field observations, and a design approach based on modern technology concepts. The results of this design are expected to transform the library into not only a literacy center but also a comfortable, inspiring, and socially engaging public space. Perpustakaan Umum Daerah Jakarta Selatan sebagai fasilitas literasi membutuhkan desain interior yang mampu menciptakan lingkungan nyaman, fungsional, dan menarik guna meningkatkan minat baca serta aktivitas belajar masyarakat. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya tata ruang yang optimal, pencahayaan yang belum memadai, serta kurangnya suasana yang mendukung kenyamanan dan fokus bagi pengunjung. Oleh karena itu, perancangan ini bertujuan merancang interior perpustakaan dengan pendekatan ergonomi dan estetika agar dapat diakses oleh berbagai kalangan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi analisis kebutuhan pengguna, studi literatur, observasi lapangan, serta pendekatan desain berbasis teknologi modern. Hasil dari perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan perpustakaan yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pusat literasi, tetapi juga sebagai ruang publik yang nyaman, inspiratif, dan mendukung interaksi sosial masyarakat.
