Abstract

As a center of French culture, the Insitut Français d'Indonésie Jakarta has a variety of programs ranging from French classes, linguistics, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, to cultural performances. However, IFI Jakarta does not meet the specified area standards. This has led to the emergence of other problems that have an impact on the completeness of facilities, accessibility and service quality. IFI Jakarta also has problems with the processing of interior elements that do not represent the characteristics of France and the identity of the institution itself. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method that aims to describe the problems that occur in the French cultural center, based on data collected through observation, interviews, or documentation. The interior design of the French Cultural Center in Jakarta is expected to accommodate the needs of its programs and support the achievement of its objectives through thoughtful spatial planning, while also creating a cultural center that reflects the distinctive characteristics of French culture and the institution’s identity. Keywords: Cultural Center, Identity, Characteristics Sebagai pusat kebudayaan Prancis, Insitut Français d’Indonésie Jakarta memiliki berbagai macam program mulai dari kelas bahasa Perancis, linguistik, seminar, workshop, pameran, hingga pertunjukan budaya. Namun, IFI Jakarta tidak memenuhi standar luasan yang ditentukan. Situasi ini memicu masalah baru yang berdampak pada fasilitas, akses dan mutu pelayanan. IFI Jakarta juga menghadapi kendala dalam penataan elemen interior yang belum mencerminkan karakter khas Prancis maupun identitas lembaganya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan permasalahan yang terjadi pada pusat kebudayaan perancis, berdasarkan data yang dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, atau dokumentasi. Diharapkan perancangan desain interior pada Pusat Kebudayaan Perancis di Jakarta ini diharapkan mampu memenuhi kebutuhan berbagai program kegiatannya serta mencapai tujuannya melalui penataan interior yang tepat dan penciptaan suasana ruang yang mencerminkan ciri khas kebudayaannya.
