Abstract
The Indonesian government has launched the vision of the Golden Generation 2030–2045, which aims to create a high-quality young generation that is globally competitive and possesses strong character to face the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. To achieve this vision, a high-quality and effective education system is required, which can be found through formal education that is both good and reliable. This can further be enhanced by character education to strengthen the mental resilience of the youth—something that can be effectively achieved through a boarding school system. However, most boarding schools still separate academic activities from dormitory life, which often leads to a disconnection or shift in character when students move between the two environments. Therefore, an integrated architectural design is needed—one that can accommodate both academic and dormitory functions within a cohesive setting, while also providing comfort, safety, and a sense of belonging for its users. By applying a contemporary architectural approach, the design aims to establish a space that is not only functional, secure, and comfortable, but also aesthetically aligned with the principles of modern architecture. Keywords : Madrasah School, Contemporary, Boarding School Pemerintah Indonesia telah mencanangkan visi Generasi Emas 2030-2045, yang bertujuan untuk menciptakan generasi muda yang berkualitas, berdaya saing global, serta memiliki karakter yang kuat dalam menghadapi tantangan di era revolusi industri 4.0. Untuk mencapai visi tersebut, diperlukan sistem pendidikan yang bermutu dan berkualitas, hal ini didapat pada pendidikan formal yang baik dan bermutu. Kemudian dapat ditingkatkan dengan pendidikan karakter agar generasi muda lebih kuat secara mental yang mana hal ini dapat dicapai dengan sistem pendidikan asrama. Namun mayoritas sekolah dengan sistem asrama masih memisahkan antara kegiatan sekolah dan asrama. Akibatnya terjadi perpindahan atau pelepasan karakter ketika keluar dari lingkungan asrama ke sekolah maupun sebaliknya. Maka dibutuhkan sebuah desain bangunan yang mampu menampung kegiatan-kegiatana di lingkungan sekolah dan asrama, yang mana bangunan harus memberikan kenyamanan, keamanan dan perasaan kerasan bagi penggunanya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan arsitektur kontemporer ditujukan agar prinsip-prinsip yang diterapkan dalam bangunan dapat menciptakan lingkungan yang nyaman, aman dan fungsional tetapi tetap memperhatikan estetika bangunan modern.
