Abstract

Pressure vessels play an important role in various industries, including the storage and transportation of hazardous or pressurized fluids. However, improper design and manufacture of these vessels can result in hazardous incidents such as explosions and leaks, which pose significant risks to human life and the environment. Therefore, a pressure vessel design must have a high level of safety according to applicable standards. The purpose of this design is to determine the thickness of a vessel with a capacity of 2 m³ with a pressure of 1.2 MPa that is safe and in accordance with the working environment conditions of the vessel. The design of the pressure vessel uses the help of PV Elite software to measure the thickness of the plate in accordance with ASME standards. The results obtained in the design of a vertical pressure vessel with a capacity of 2 m³ use the calculation standard ASME Section VIII division I with the material used for the pressure vessel is SA-240 TP 340 with dimensions of 1200 mm x 1800 mm. Based on the internal pressure, the shell thickness is 6 mm, the top torispherical is 9 mm and the bottom torispherical is 9 mm. Based on the results of running the PV Elite software, the design of a 2 m³ vertical pressure vessel with a pressure of 1.2 MPa and a temperature of 50°C is safe for use. Keywords: Pressure Vessel, Vertical, ASME Bejana tekan memegang peranan penting dalam berbagai industri, termasuk penyimpanan dan pengangkutan cairan berbahaya atau cairan bertekanan. Akan tetapi, desain dan pembuatan bejana ini yang tidak tepat dapat mengakibatkan insiden berbahaya seperti ledakan dan kebocoran, yang menimbulkan risiko signifikan bagi kehidupan manusia dan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, sebuah perancangan bejana tekan harus memiliki tingkat keamanan yang tinggi sesuai standar yang berlaku. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah untuk menentukan ketebalan bejana dengan kapasitas 2 m³ dengan tekanan 1,2 MPa yang aman dan sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan kerja bejana. Perancangan bejana tekan menggunakan bantuan software PV Elite untuk mengukur ketebalan plat yang sesuai dengan standar ASME. Hasil yang didapat dalam penentuan ketebalan bejana tekan vertikal kapasitas 2 m³ menggunakan standar perhitungan ASME Section VIII division I dengan material yang digunakan untuk bejana tekan adalah SA-240 TP 340 dengan dimensi 1200 mm x 1800 mm. Berdasarkan tekanan intenal, didapat ketebalan shell sebesar 6 mm, top torispherical sebesar 9 mm dan bottom torispherical sebesar 9 mm. Berdasarkan hasil running dari software PV Elite maka hasil perancangan bejana tekan vertical 2 m³ dengan tekanan 1,2 MPa dan temperature 50°C telah aman digunakan.
