Abstract
The creative industry in Indonesia began to develop significantly following the issuance of Presidential Instruction No. 6 of 2009 on the development of the Creative Economy, which was later followed by the establishment of the Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF) in 2015. One of the strategic steps in developing this sector was the designation of six regencies/cities as role models for creative economy sub-sectors by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. One of them is South Jakarta, which excels in the field of visual arts and is home to the iconic Blok M area. This area has long been a hub for youth activities and is currently undergoing revitalization through the emergence of creative spaces such as M Bloc Space and Taman Literasi. In this context, the development of a Creative Hub in Blok M is essential as a platform for collaboration and innovation among creative industry players. The placemaking approach is applied to optimize the function of public spaces in building an inclusive, sustainable, and integrated creative ecosystem. This approach emphasizes four key elements: accessibility, activities, social interaction, and comfort and image of the place, to support the growth of the creative community in Blok M. Keywords: Creative Industry, Blok M, Fine Arts, Creative Economy Agency Industri kreatif di Indonesia mulai berkembang secara signifikan sejak diterbitkannya Instruksi Presiden Nomor 6 Tahun 2009 tentang pengembangan Ekonomi Kreatif, yang diikuti oleh pembentukan Badan Ekonomi Kreatif (BEKRAF) pada tahun 2015. Salah satu langkah strategis pengembangan sektor ini adalah penetapan enam kabupaten/kota sebagai role model subsektor ekonomi kreatif oleh Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif. Salah satunya adalah Jakarta Selatan, yang unggul dalam bidang seni rupa dan memiliki kawasan ikonik Blok M. Kawasan ini sejak lama menjadi pusat aktivitas kaum muda dan kini mengalami revitalisasi melalui kehadiran ruang-ruang kreatif seperti M Bloc Space dan Taman Literasi. Dalam konteks ini, pengembangan Creative Hub di Blok M menjadi penting sebagai wadah kolaborasi dan inovasi para pelaku industri kreatif. Pendekatan placemaking diterapkan untuk mengoptimalkan fungsi ruang publik dalam menciptakan ekosistem kreatif yang inklusif, berkelanjutan, dan terintegrasi. Pendekatan ini menekankan pada empat elemen utama: aksesibilitas, aktivitas, interaksi sosial, serta kenyamanan dan citra tempat, guna mendukung pertumbuhan komunitas kreatif di Blok M.
