Abstract

Social media has become an important tool for fresh graduates in finding job information in the digital era due to its ease of access, wide reach and time efficiency. Low digital literacy, lack of work experience, and fierce competition in the labor market are challenges for fresh graduates. This study aims to analyze the patterns of social media use for fresh graduates in obtaining job vacancy information. This study uses theories and concepts including critical media literacy, media usage patterns, information seeking, social media usage processes, information behavior, as well as concepts related to fresh graduates, job vacancies, and social media. This research was a descriptive qualitative research with a post-positivism paradigm. The research subjects consisted of 6 informants with the criteria of fresh undergraduate graduates, living in Singdangsari Village, Tangerang Regency, not yet having a job, and having social media. Data collection techniques used indepth interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and verification and conclusion drawing. The results showed that fresh graduates utilize various social media platforms and jobseeker websites to find information on job vacancies by following recruiters' accounts, searching through hashtags, and joining jobseeker communities. Fresh graduates also verify the authenticity of job vacancies although some still have difficulty understanding the explicit meaning in job descriptions. In disseminating information, fresh graduates adjust the platform and delivery format to the level of engagement from actively sharing to just being a passive observer. Keywords : fresh graduate, social media, information, job vacancies, process Media sosial telah menjadi alat penting bagi fresh graduate dalam mencari informasi pekerjaan di era digital karena kemudahan akses, jangkauan luas, dan efisiensi waktu. Literasi digital yang rendah, kurangnya pengalaman kerja, dan persaingan ketat di pasar tenaga kerja menjadi tantangan bagi fresh graduate. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses penggunaan media sosial bagi fresh gradute dalam mendapatkan informasi lowongan pekerjaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori dan konsep meliputi literasi media kritis, pola penggunaan media, pencarian informasi (information seeking), proses penggunaan media sosial, perilaku informasi, serta konsep tentang fresh graduate, lowongan kerja, dan media sosial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan paradigma post-positivisme. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 6 informan dengan kriteria lulusan S1 fresh graduate, tinggal di Kelurahan Singdangsari Kabupaten Tangerang, belum memiliki pekerjaan, dan memiliki media sosial. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, serta verifikasi dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fresh graduate memanfaatkan berbagai platform media sosial dan situs jobseeker untuk mencari informasi lowongan pekerjaan dengan mengikuti akun rekruter, mencari melalui tagar, dan bergabung dalam komunitas pencari kerja. Fresh gradute juga melakukan verifikasi informasi keaslian lowongan kerja meskipun masih ada yang kesulitan memahami makna eksplisit dalam deskripsi pekerjaan. Dalam menyebarkan informasi, fresh graduate menyesuaikan platform dan format penyampaian dengan tingkat keterlibatan dari aktif berbagi hingga hanya menjadi pengamat pasif.
