Abstract

The increasing interest in investing among the younger generation, especially Generation Z (Gen-Z), has been in the spotlight in recent years. Generation Z, known as the digital native generation, is increasingly active in accessing various investment instruments such as stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and other digital assets. However, low financial literacy and the influence of behavioral bias are challenges in making rational investment decisions. This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, financial technology (fintech), overconfidence bias and risk tolerance on mutual fund investment decisions on Generation Z in DKI Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Square (PLS) method to test the relationship between variables. The population in this study includes 3,299,164 Gen-Z in DKI Jakarta, with a sample of 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data collected through online questionnaires, with the results of the study showing that Financial Literacy is positive and significant on investment decisions (β = 0.339; p <0.05 and tstatistics> 1.96). Overconfidence Bias is positive and significant towards investment decisions (β = 0.398; p < 0.05 and t-statistics > 1.96). Financial Technology is positive and not significant towards investment decisions (β = 0.144; p > 0.05 and t-statistics < 1.96). Risk Tolerance is negative and not significant towards investment decisions (β = -0.009; p > 0.05 and t-statistics < 1.96). This study emphasizes the importance of financial education to reduce behavioral bias and improve the quality of Gen-Z investment decisions. These findings also provide input for regulators, fintech service providers, and educators in designing effective financial literacy strategies. Meningkatnya minat berinvestasi di kalangan generasi muda khususnya Generasi Z (Gen-Z) telah menjadi sorotan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Generasi Z yang dikenal sebagai generasi digital native semakin aktif dalam mengakses berbagai instrumen investasi seperti saham, reksa dana, obligasi, dan aset digital lainnya. Namum, rendahnya literasi keuangan dan pengaruh behavioral bias menjadi tantangan dalam pengambilan keputusan investasi yang rasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh financial literacy, financial technology (fintech), overconfidence bias dan risk tolerance terhadap keputusan investasi reksa dana pada Generasi Z di DKI Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Partial Least Square (PLS) untuk menguji hubungan antar variabel. Populasi dalam penelitian ini mencakup 3.299.164 Gen-Z di DKI Jakarta, dengan sampel sebanyak 100 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik purpove sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner online, dengan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Financial Literacy positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi (β = 0,339; p < 0,05 dan t-statistics > 1,96). Overconfidence Bias positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi (β = 0,398; p < 0,05 dan tstatistics > 1,96). Financial Technology positif tidak signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi (β = 0,144; p > 0,05 dan t-statistcs < 1,96). Risk Tolerance negatif tidak signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi (β = -0,009; p > 0,05 dan t-statistics < 1,96). Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya edukasi keuangan untuk mengurangi bias perilaku dan meningkatkan kualitas keputusan investasi Gen-Z. Temuan ini juga memberikan masukkan bagi regulator, penyedia layanan fintech, dan edukator dalam merancang strategi literasi keuangan yang efektif.
