Abstract
This Engineering Practical Activity was conducted at the Gang Hijau Swakarya Community in South Meruya, West Jakarta, with the aim of supporting food security and clean energy transition in urban areas. The activity included the installation of a 600-watt solar power generation system and its integration with an NFT hydroponic farming system. The generated energy was stored in a 200-Ah battery and converted by a 2,000-watt inverter to power pumps and LED lights. Four hydroponic systems were built to sustainably cultivate organic vegetables. Technical training was provided to residents on installation, system maintenance, and energy resource management. The implementation results showed that the solar power system was able to meet 99.7% of daily energy needs (2,154 kWh) under sunny conditions, but only 33.3% under cloudy conditions, with a Break Even Point (BEP) of 13.3 months. This program successfully increased agricultural productivity, reduced dependence on PLN electricity, and encouraged active community participation in renewable technologies. This initiative serves as a model for replication in other urban areas with limited space and energy access. Keywords: BEP, Energy, Hydroponics, System, Solar Panel. Kegiatan Praktik Keinsinyuran ini dilaksanakan di Komunitas Gang Hijau Swakarya, Meruya Selatan, Jakarta Barat, dengan tujuan mendukung ketahanan pangan dan transisi energi bersih di kawasan perkotaan. Kegiatan ini mencakup pemasangan sistem pembangkit listrik tenaga surya berkapasitas 600 WP dan integrasinya dengan instalasi pertanian hidroponik metode NFT. Energi yang dihasilkan disimpan dalam baterai 200 Ah dan dikonversi oleh inverter sebesar 2000W untuk menghidupkan pompa dan lampu LED. Empat unit sistem hidroponik dibangun untuk membudidayakan sayuran organik secara berkelanjutan. Pelatihan teknis diberikan kepada warga mengenai instalasi, perawatan sistem, dan pengelolaan sumber daya energi. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan bahwa sistem tenaga surya mampu mencukupi 99,7% kebutuhan energi harian (2,154 kWh) pada kondisi cerah, namun hanya 33,3% saat cuaca mendung dengan nilai BEP sebesar 13,3 bulan. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian, mengurangi ketergantungan listrik PLN, dan mendorong partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam teknologi terbarukan. Inisiatif ini menjadi model replikasi untuk wilayah urban lain yang memiliki keterbatasan ruang dan akses energi. Kata kunci: BEP, Energi, Hidroponik, Sistem, Solar Panel.
