Abstract

The glass bottle material plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of packaged beverage products. This study aims to control the quality of glass bottles by applying the DMAIC method. The data analyzed comprises 15,851,713 bottles over the period of July to December 2024, supported by field observations and interviews. The analysis was conducted using DPMO and sigma level calculations, Pareto diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, and FMEA. The results indicate that the most dominant defect was chipped neck finish, accounting for 40.8%, with an average DPMO of 1,415 and a sigma level of 2.99. Based on the identification of root causes related to human, machine, and method factors, the proposed improvements include the development of a daily monitoring form, the addition of protective rubber on glass bottle materials, and the implementation of a storage container inspection form. The 5M Checklist and Kaizen 5S approaches were employed to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the improvements. This study contributes to reducing defect rates and enhancing the efficiency of the glass bottle material management process. Keywords: Quality control, DMAIC, FMEA, Kaizen Material botol kaca memiliki peran krusial dalam menjamin mutu produk minuman kemasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengendalikan kualitas botol kaca dengan menerapkan metode DMAIC. Data yang dianalisis mencakup 15.851.713 botol selama periode Juli hingga Desember 2024, dilengkapi dengan observasi dan wawancara lapangan. Analisis dilakukan melalui perhitungan DPMO, level sigma, diagram Pareto, diagram sebab-akibat, dan FMEA. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa cacat paling dominan adalah gumpil atas (neck finish) sebesar 40,8%, dengan rata-rata DPMO sebesar 1.415 dan level sigma 2,99. Berdasarkan identifikasi penyebab utama dari faktor manusia, mesin, dan metode, usulan perbaikan yang diberikan meliputi pembuatan form monitoring harian, penambahan karet pelindung pada material botol kaca, serta form inspeksi wadah penyimpanan. Pendekatan 5M Checklist dan Kaizen 5S digunakan untuk memastikan keberlanjutan dan efektivitas perbaikan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengurangan tingkat cacat serta peningkatan efisiensi proses pengelolaan material botol kaca. Kata kunci: Pengendalian Kualitas, DMAIC, FMEA, Kaizen
