Abstract
Human ability to determine technological developments shows that humans have control over technology. Humans have a major role in determining the form and function of technology according to needs. The development of learning technology is also in line with the progress of information technology and new media (convergence). Media convergence is a phenomenon in which various technologies, industries, and media services that were previously separate are combined into one platform or device with integrated functions. This phenomenon significantly supports the development of learning technology. Digital literacy is not only the ability to use technological devices but also the ability to receive and share information. Ability to communicate, socialize, have a responsible attitude, think critically, creatively, and be inspiring as digital competencies in achieving educational goals. The theories used in this study are the theory of Social Construction of Technology, the concept of convergence, and the concept of digital literacy. This study uses a post-positivism paradigm with a qualitative approach and an intrinsic case study method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with informants and documentation. The purpose of this study was to determine the digital literacy of using Smart TV in the process of learning foreign languages (Arabic, English and Japanese) at SMAS Unggul Ar-Rahman, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province. The results of the study showed the positive benefits of digital literacy using Smart TV in the learning process. Digital literacy at SMAS Unggul Ar-Rahman has great potential to encourage teachers and students to be able to think critically, creatively, and inspiringly, namely digital competencies that are very important in achieving educational goals. These abilities not only support educational success, but also prepare students to face the challenges of the digital era in the future. By utilizing Smart TV, teachers and students can develop digital literacy while learning a foreign language, including strengthening communication skills, socialization, responsibility, critical, creative, and inspiring thinking in a more interactive and interesting learning atmosphere. Smart TV at SMAS Unggul ArRahman is used to broadcast original content from countries that use the language, such as films, TV shows, or news. The use of this original content provides many benefits in learning foreign languages and helps improve students' digital literacy. Keywords: digital literacy, Smart TV, learning, SMAS Unggul Ar-Rahman Kemampuan manusia dalam menentukan perkembangan teknologi menunjukkan bahwa manusia memiliki kendali atas teknologi. Manusia memiliki peran utama dalam menentukan bentuk dan fungsi teknologi sesuai kebutuhan. Perkembangan teknologi pembelajaran juga sejalan dengan kemajuan teknologi informasi dan media baru (konvergensi). Konvergensi media adalah fenomena di mana berbagai teknologi, industri, dan layanan media yang sebelumnya terpisah digabungkan ke dalam satu platform atau perangkat dengan fungsi yang terpadu. Fenomena ini mendukung perkembangan teknologi pembelajaran secara signifikan. Literasi digital tidak hanya kemampuan untuk menggunakan perangkat teknologi melainkan cakap menerima dan berbagi informasi. Cakap berkomunikasi, bersosialisasi, memiliki sikap bertanggungjawab, berpikir kritis, kreatif, serta inspiratif sebagai kompetensi digital dalam pencapaian tujuan pendidikan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Konstruksi Sosial Teknologi (Social Construction of Technology), konsep konvergensi, dan konsep literasi digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma post-positivisme dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus intrinsik Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan informan dan dokumentasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui literasi digital penggunaan Smart TV dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Asing (Bahasa Arab, Inggris dan Jepang) di SMAS Unggul Ar-Rahman Kabupaten Sukabumi Provinsi Jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan manfaat positif literasi digital penggunaan Smart TV dalam proses pembelajaran. Literasi digital di SMAS Unggul Ar-Rahman memiliki potensi besar untuk mendorong guru dan siswa agar mampu berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan inspiratif yaitu kompetensi digital yang sangat penting dalam pencapaian tujuan pendidikan. Kemampuan tersebut tidak hanya mendukung keberhasilan pendidikan, tetapi juga mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan era digital di masa depan. Dengan memanfaatkan Smart TV, guru dan siswa dapat mengembangkan literasi digital sambil belajar bahasa asing, termasuk dalam penguatan keterampilan komunikasi, sosialisasi, tanggung jawab, berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan inspiratif dalam suasana belajar yang lebih interaktif dan menarik. Smart TV di SMAS Unggul Ar-Rahman digunakan untuk menayangkan konten asli dari negara yang menggunakan bahasa tersebut, seperti film, acara TV, atau berita. Penggunaan konten asli ini memberikan banyak manfaat dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing serta membantu meningkatkan literasi digital siswa.
