Abstract
In order to form a developed city, transportation facilities play an important role in supporting the quality of life and supporting daily activities. One example of important transportation infrastructure is a bridge. A bridge is a structure designed to connect two roadways that are cut off by various obstacles, such as highways, railroad tracks, valleys, rivers, and lakes. The construction of the Presidential Palace Area of the Capital of the Archipelago (IKN) involves PCI-Girder erection work, which plays an important role in the bridge structure. Implementation time efficiency is a major challenge, especially in large-scale construction projects. The application of the Lean construction method is a strategic approach to improve efficiency and reduce waste during the construction process. In PCI-Girder erection work, there are two main methods used, namely the Crawler Crane and Launcher Gantry methods, each with its own challenges. The Crawler Crane method tends to be faster, but requires careful planning to ensure safety. In contrast, the Launcher Gantry method offers a higher level of precision in Girder installation, although it requires a longer execution time. This study aims to evaluate the application of Lean construction in PCI-Girder erection work, compare the time efficiency between the two methods, and analyze the contribution of Lean construction to improving project time performance. The research was conducted through field observations, interviews, and analysis of project technical data to identify time wastage and evaluate the efficiency of the methods using Lean construction principles. The results showed that the Crawler Crane method was faster to implement than the Launcher Gantry , although it required more detailed safety planning. Meanwhile, the Launcher Gantry offers better precision, but requires a longer duration. Overall, the implementation of Lean construction proved to be effective in reducing time wastage, improving operational efficiency, and helping achieve project time targets. Keywords: IKN, Bridge, Time, PCI-Girder Erection, Lean construction Dalam rangka ingin membentuk suatu kota yang maju, fasilitas transportasi memegang peranan penting dalam menunjang kualitas hidup dan mendukung aktivitas sehari-hari. Salah satu contoh prasarana transportasi yang penting adalah jembatan. Jembatan merupakan struktur yang dirancang untuk menghubungkan dua jalur jalan yang terputus oleh berbagai rintangan, seperti jalan raya, jalur rel kereta api, lembah, sungai, dan danau. Pembangunan Kawasan Istana Kepresidenan Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) melibatkan pekerjaan erection PCI-Girder, yang berperan penting dalam struktur jembatan. Efisiensi waktu pelaksanaan menjadi tantangan utama, terutama pada proyek konstruksi skala besar. Penerapan metode Lean construction menjadi pendekatan strategis untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan mengurangi pemborosan selama proses konstruksi. Pada pekerjaan erection PCI-Girder, terdapat dua metode utama yang digunakan, yaitu metode Crawler Crane dan Launcher Gantry, masing-masing dengan tantangannya sendiri. Metode Crawler Crane cenderung lebih cepat, tetapi membutuhkan perencanaan yang matang untuk memastikan keselamatan. Sebaliknya, metode Launcher Gantry menawarkan tingkat presisi yang lebih tinggi dalam pemasangan girder, meskipun memerlukan waktu pelaksanaan yang lebih lama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan Lean construction dalam pekerjaan erection PCI-Girder, membandingkan efisiensi waktu antara kedua metode tersebut, serta menganalisis kontribusi Lean construction terhadap peningkatan kinerja waktu proyek. Penelitian dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan analisis data teknis proyek untuk mengidentifikasi pemborosan waktu dan mengevaluasi efisiensi metode menggunakan prinsip Lean construction. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Crawler Crane lebih cepat dalam pelaksanaan dibandingkan Launcher Gantry, meskipun memerlukan perencanaan keamanan yang lebih rinci. Sementara itu, Launcher Gantry menawarkan presisi yang lebih baik, tetapi membutuhkan durasi lebih panjang. Secara keseluruhan, penerapan Lean construction terbukti efektif dalam mengurangi pemborosan waktu, meningkatkan efisiensi operasional, dan membantu pencapaian target waktu proyek.
