Abstract
Mental health merupakan salah satu elemen penting yang berkaitan erat dengan berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia. Tahapan dan tugas perkembangan di masa dewasa awal dinilai rentan menimbulkan tekanan yang memicu gejala permasalahan pada mental health individu. Nature relatedness diduga diperlukan untuk menunjang kestabilan mental health mereka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti hubungan antara nature relatedness dan mental health individu dewasa awal di Jabodetabek. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan accidental sampling dengan responden sebanyak 148 individu dewasa awal (20-40 tahun) dari Jabodetabek. Instrumen penelitian untuk variabel nature relatedness adalah Nature Relatedness- Scale (NR-Scale) oleh E. K. Nisbet et al. (2008) dan Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF) oleh Keyes et al. (2008). Hasil analisis dengan Spearman’s Rho Correlation menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara nature relatedness dengan mental health pada individu dewasa awal di Jabodetabek. Dengan demikian semakin tinggi nature relatedness pada dewasa awal, maka akan semakin tinggi mental health nya. Mental health is an important element that is closely related to various aspects of human life. Developmental stages and tasks in early adulthood are considered vulnerable to causing pressure that triggers symptoms of problems in individual mental health. Nature relatedness is thought to be needed to support the stability of their mental health. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between nature relatedness and mental health of early adult individuals in Jabodetabek. The data collection technique used accidental sampling with 148 respondents of early adult individuals (20-40 years old) from Jabodetabek. The research instrument for the nature relatedness variable is the Nature Relatedness-Scale (NR-Scale) by E. K. Nisbet et al. (2008) and Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF) by Keyes et al. (2008). The results of the analysis with Spearman's Rho Correlation show that there is a significant positive relationship between nature relatedness and mental health in early adult individuals in Jabodetabek. Thus the higher the nature relatedness in early adults, the higher the mental health.
