Abstract
This correlational quantitative research aims to examine the relationship between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and Life Satisfaction among Emerging Adults who are active users of Instagram. A total of 232 respondents, who are active Instagram users, were selected using accidental sampling. Two measurement tools were used: the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) developed by Natanael & Novanto (2021), and the Fear of Missing Out Scale (FoMO Scale) by Abel et al. (2016), adapted into Indonesian by Wibaningrum & Aurellya (2020). Data were analyzed using techniques with the help of SPSS version 26. The hypothesis test results indicate a significant negative relationship between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and Life Satisfaction among Emerging Adults using Instagram. The results show a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.623, as determined by the coefficient of determination test, and a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) processed using SPSS Version 26. Penelitian kuantitatif korelasional ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan Fear of Missing Out (Fomo) dengan Life Satisfaction pada Emerging Adulthood Pengguna Aktif Sosial Media Instagram. Sebanyak 232 responden pengguna aktif sosial media Instagram menggunakan metode accidental sampling. Terdapat 2 (dua) alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu , Model Pengukuran Congeneric, Tau-Equivalent dan Parallel pada Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) hasil pengembangan dari (Natanael & Novanto, 2021), Fear of Missing Out Scale (FoMO Scale) (Abel et al., 2016) hasil adaptasi ke dalam versi Bahasa Indonesia oleh Wibaningrum, G., & Aurellya, C. D. (2020). Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik dengan bantuan program SPSS versi 26. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif dan signifikan Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) dengan Life Satisfaction pada Emerging Adulthood pengguna sosial media Instagram. Pada hasil didapat nilai r sebesar -0,623 yang dilihat melalui uji koefisien determinasi, dan nilai signifikan sebesar 0.000 (p<0.05) yang diolah menggunakan aplikasi SPSS Version 26. Kata Kunci : Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), Life Satisfaction, Emerging Adulthood.
