Abstract
Expansive clays and loams with high plasticity have low bearing capacity due to expansion and shrinkage due to changes in moisture content. In North Jakarta, soft clay soils can cause damage to infrastructure. This research explores soil stabilization using fly ash and cement, as well as mechanical and physical testing of the soil. Primary data were collected through laboratory tests, while secondary data from literature. The test results showed that the soil in Kapuk Muara Village belongs to the MH (USCS) and A-7-5 (AASHTO) categories, with characteristics such as specific gravity of 2.54 gr/cm³, liquid limit of 111.59%, and maximum CBR value of 3.93%, indicating poor bearing capacity. The addition of fly ash and cement increases the CBR value, with a combination of 15% cement giving the best results with a max CBR value. 7,55%. This stabilization shows an increase in soil shear strength parameters from Triaxial test results of 2,570 kg/cm2 and UCS of 2,433 kg/cm2 , where the increase in cohesion value makes the soil more rigid. The results of this study confirm that the use of fly ash and cement is effective to increase the bearing capacity of soft clay soil. Keywords: Soft Clay, Stabilization, CBR, Soil Shear Strength, Fly Ash, Cement Tanah lempung dan lempung ekspansif dengan plastisitas tinggi memiliki daya dukung rendah karena pemuaian dan penyusutan akibat perubahan kadar air. Di Jakarta Utara, tanah lempung lunak dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada infrastruktur. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi stabilisasi tanah menggunakan fly ash dan semen, serta pengujian mekanis dan fisik tanah. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui uji laboratorium, sedangkan data sekunder dari literatur. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan tanah di Kelurahan Kapuk Muara termasuk dalam kategori MH (USCS) dan A-7-5 (AASHTO), dengan karakteristik seperti berat jenis 2,54 gr/cm³, batas cair 111,59%, dan nilai CBR maks. 3,93%, yang menandakan daya dukung yang buruk. Penambahan fly ash dan semen meningkatkan nilai CBR, dengan kombinasi 15% semen memberikan hasil terbaik yaitu dengan nilai CBR maks. 7,55%. Stabilisasi ini menunjukkan peningkatan parameter kuat geser tanah dari hasil uji Triaxial sebesar 2,570 kg/cm2 dan UCS sebesar 2,433 kg/cm2 , dimana peningkatan nilai kohesi menjadikan tanah lebih kaku. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan fly ash dan semen efektif untuk meningkatkan daya dukung tanah lempung lunak.
