Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between self-awareness and academic resilience among college students at Mercu Buana University. The focus of this research is to provide insights that could help enhance academic resilience and assist students in coping with the pressures and challenges they face in academic life. Academic resilience refers to the ability of students to overcome various obstacles, including academic stress, personal issues, or unsupportive environmental conditions, while self-awareness is the process of recognizing and understanding one’s emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that can affect oneself and others. The participants in this study consisted of 343 students from Mercu Buana University, selected using accidental sampling. Academic resilience was measured using the Academic Resilience Scale-30 (ARS-30), while self-awareness was assessed using the Situational Self-Awareness Scale (SSAS). Data were analyzed using Spearman's correlation. The results revealed an r = 0.376 and p = 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between self-awareness and academic resilience. In conclusion, there is a positive relationship between self-awareness and academic resilience among students at Mercu Buana University. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that self-awareness is related to academic resilience among students at Mercu Buana University. Keywords: Self-Awareness, Academic Resilience Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kesadaran diri dan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan wawasan yang berguna dalam meningkatkan resiliensi akademik dan membantu mahasiswa menghadapi tekanan serta kesulitan di dunia perkuliahan. Resiliensi akademik merujuk pada kemampuan mahasiswa untuk mengatasi berbagai rintangan, termasuk stres akademik, isu pribadi, atau kondisi lingkungan yang tidak mendukung, sedangkan kesadaran diri adalah proses mengenali dan memahami perasaan, pikiran, dan perilaku yang dapat memengaruhi diri sendiri dan orang lain. Partisipan penelitian ini terdiri dari 343 mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana yang dipilih dengan teknik accidental sampling. Resiliensi akademik diukur menggunakan Academic Resilience Scale-30 (ARS30), sementara kesadaran diri diukur dengan Situational Self-Awareness Scale (SSAS). Data dianalisis menggunakan korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai r = 0,376 dan p = 0,000, yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara kesadaran diri dengan resiliensi akademik. Kesimpulannya, terdapat hubungan positif antara kesadaran diri dan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan kesadaran diri dengan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana. Kata Kunci: Kesadaran Diri, Resiliensi Akademik
