Abstract

The sandwich generation faces a greater burden as they must care for aging parents while raising children or even supporting their younger siblings. This situation often leads them to feel pressured by complex family demands, triggering significant stress. As a result, many individuals in the sandwich generation struggle to achieve flourishing or a life that thrives optimally, making them reliant on social support, supportive policies, and effective coping strategies to navigate these challenges.This study aims to examine the influence of Gratitude and coping strategies on flourishing in the sandwich generation. This correlational quantitative research employed purposive sampling and obtained 276 subjects. The measurement tools used included the Flourishing Scale (FS), the Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form (GQ-6), and the Strategi coping Scale. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 27 software.The statistical analysis results indicate that, within the sandwich generation, Gratitude and coping strategies are has a significant impact on flourishing. Keywords: Gratitude, Coping Strategies, Flourishing, Sandwich Generation Generasi sandwich menghadapi beban yang lebih besar karena harus merawat orang tua yang sudah lanjut usia sambil membesarkan anak-anak atau bahkan mendukung adik-adik mereka. Hal ini dapat membuat generasi sandwich sering merasa tertekan oleh tuntutan keluarga yang kompleks, yang memicu stres signifikan. Akibatnya, banyak individu dalam generasi sandwich merasa kesulitan mencapai flourishing atau kehidupan yang berkembang secara optimal, sehingga mereka membutuhkan dukungan sosial, kebijakan yang mendukung, serta strategi coping yang efektif untuk mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh gratitude dan strategi coping terhadap flourishing pada generasi Sandwich. Penelitian kuantitatif korelasional ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan diperoleh 276 subjek. Alat ukur yang digunakan mencakup Flourishing Scale (FS), Gratitude Questionnaire-Six Item Form (GQ-6) dan Strategi coping Scale. Data diolah dengan teknik regresi linier berganda dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 27. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pada generasi sandwich, gratitude dan strategi coping memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap flourishing.
