Abstract
Adolescence has a harder task in adjusting to the situation, especially the situation when facing parental divorce. Adolescents who experience parental divorce take a long time to forgive the circumstances they experience and find it difficult to be grateful for these bad circumstances and sometimes also not fully able to survive and adapt to the situation (parental divorce). This study aims to determine the effect of forgiveness and existential gratitude on the resilience of adolescents who experience parental divorce. Through accidental sampling technique, 208 respondents were obtained. The measuring instruments used are Transgression Related Interpersonal Motivations 18 Version (TRIM-18), Existential Gratitude Scale (EGS), and The Connor-Davidson resilience Scale (CD-RISC). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression tests with IBM SPSS for Windows version 27 software. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant effect of forgiveness and existential gratitude on resilience, both partially and simultaneously. Forgiveness contributes to resilience by 10.6% and existential gratitude contributes to resilience by 8.1%. Together forgiveness and existential gratitude have an effect of 14.9% on resilience.
