Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan celebrity worship dan self- control dengan compulsive buying pada dewasa awal penggemar K-pop. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Partisipan adalah dewasa awal 20-30 tahun sebanyak laki-laki 32 dan perempuan 180 dengan rata-rata usia 22 tahun (M=23.17 SD=2.806) diambil dengan teknik accidental sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner daring akan dibuat menggunakan item yang berasal dari tiga alat ukur yang diadaptasi dengan menerjemahkan item dari bahasa inggris ke bahasa indonesia. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil analisis korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif celebrity worship dengan compulsive buying, semakin besar kecenderungan penggemar K-pop melakukan pembelian kompulsif. Selain itu, ditemukan hubungan positif dengan tingkat korelasi rendah antara self-control dengan compulsive buying, Dimensi self-control yang memiliki hubungan paling kuat dengan compulsive buying adalah Healthy Habits (r = - 0.404, p = 0.000) dan Work Ethic (r = -0.411, p = 0.000), yang menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kemampuan individu dalam mengontrol dirinya dalam aspek ini, semakin rendah kecenderungan mereka untuk melakukan pembelian kompulsif. This study aims to examine the relationship of celebrity worship and self-control with compulsive buying in early adult K-pop fans. This study used quantitative methods with a correlational design. Participants were early adults 20-30 years old as many as 32 males and 180 females with an average age of 22 years (M = 23.17 SD = 2.806) taken by accidental sampling technique. Data collected using an online questionnaire will be made using items derived from three measuring instruments adapted by translating items from English to Indonesian. Data analysis in this study used Pearson correlation test technique. The results of the correlation analysis show that there is a positive relationship between celebrity worship and compulsive buying, the greater the tendency of K-pop fans to make compulsive purchases. In addition, a positive relationship with a low correlation level was found between self-control and compulsive buying, the dimensions of self-control that have the strongest relationship with compulsive buying are Healthy Habits (r = -0.404, p = 0.000) and Work Ethic (r = -0.411, p = 0.000), which indicates that the higher the ability of individuals to control themselves in this aspect, the lower their tendency to make compulsive purchases.
