Abstract
The National Library is a government institution that functions as a center for the management, preservation, and dissemination of information and knowledge at the national level. Based on “The World's Most Literate Nations” study in 2016, Indonesia is ranked 60th out of 61 countries regarding reading interest (Central Connecticut State, 2016). A new concept is needed in the library where the library is not only a reading information center, but also a place for the community, especially students and students, to be interested in entering the library. The concept of biophilic design is a description based on the perspective of biophilia, which aims to create a space that can increase human physical and mental comfort by presenting a positive relationship between humans and nature. Biophilic design is also considered to increase creativity and cognitive function, increase motivation, minimize stress, accelerate healing and improve well-being. This design uses an analogical approach method, so the design process is carried out by comparing the form and possibly the construction obtained from nature or the surrounding environment. The results of the design are imitative analog and the accuracy of problem solving will be measured through the similarity of the nature or character of the design with the form of objects that are used as analogs. In addition, it also pays attention to the application of distance and circulation in accordance with Ergonomics and Anthropometry, Light and Color. Keywords: Library, Biophilic, Design Perpustakaan Nasional merupakan lembaga pemerintah yang berfungsi sebagai pusat pengelolaan, pelestarian, dan penyebaran informasi serta ilmu pengetahuan di tingkat nasional. Berdasarkan studi “The World’s Most Literate Nations” tahun 2016, Indonesia dinyatakan menduduki peringkat ke-60 dari 61 negara mengenai minat membaca (Central Connecticut State, 2016). Diperlukan sebuah konsep baru pada perpustakaan dimana perpustakaan tidak hanya sebagai pusat informasi bacaan, namun juga menjadi tempat untuk masyarakat khususnya pelajar dan mahasiswa tetarik untuk masuk ke perpustakaan. Konsep biophilic design ialah gambaran yang didasarkan pada perspektif biofilia, yang bertujuan untuk menciptakan ruang yang dapat meningkatkan kenyamanan fisik dan mental manusia dengan menghadirkan hubungan positif antara manusia dan alam. Desain biophilic juga dinilai dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan fungsi kognitif, meningkatkan motivasi, meminimalisir stres, mempercepat penyembuhan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan. Perancangan ini menggunakan metode pendekatan analogis, maka olah desain dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan dari bentuk dan mungkin konstruksi yang didapat dari alam atau lingkungan disekitarnya. Hasil desain bersifat imitatif analog dan ketepatan pemecahan masalah akan diukur melalui kesamaan sifat atau karakter desain dengan bentuk benda yang dijadikan analognya. Selain itu juga memperhatikan pada penerapan jarak dan sirkulasi sesuai dengan Ergonomi dan Antropometri, Light and Colour. Kata Kunci : Perpustakaan, Biophilic, Desain
