Abstract

Vespa is a legendary scooter that has been part of the development of transportation and culture in Indonesia since it first entered in 1952. Over time, Vespa has not only functioned as a means of transportation, but also as a symbol of lifestyle and community in the country. This design aims to design an illustrated book that documents the development of Vespa in Indonesia, from classic models to extreme modification trends and the Mods culture that is developing among its fans. The method used in designing this book involves literature studies and interviews with the Vespa community. With this design, it is hoped that the public can understand more deeply the long journey of Vespa in Indonesia, as well as appreciate the cultural and historical values inherent in this iconic scooter. In addition, this illustrated book is expected to be a reference for Vespa fans and creative industry players in immortalizing valuable automotive heritage. Keywords: Vespa, Illustration, Community, Information Media Vespa merupakan skuter legendaris yang telah menjadi bagian dari perkembangan transportasi dan budaya di Indonesia sejak pertama kali masuk pada tahun 1952. Seiring waktu, Vespa tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat transportasi, tetapi juga menjadi simbol gaya hidup, dan komunitas ditanah air. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah buku ilustrasi yang mendokumentasikan perkembangan Vespa di Indonesia, mulai dari model klasik hingga tren modifikasi ekstrem dan budaya Mods yang berkembang di kalangan penggemarnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan buku ini melibatkan studi literatur dan wawancara dengan komunitas Vespa. Dengan adanya perancangan in diharapkan masyarakat dapat memahami lebih dalam perjalanan panjang Vespa di Indonesia, sekaligus mengapresiasi nilai budaya dan sejarah yang melekat pada skuter ikonik ini. Selain itu, buku ilustrasi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi penggemar Vespa serta pelaku industri kreatif dalam mengabadikan warisan otomotif yang berharga.
