Abstract

Munculnya internet di era digital telah memaksa media televisi untuk berubah agar tetap relevan. Pemirsa televisi mulai memilih menonton acara program di TV melalui jaringan internet dalam smartphone. Fenomena ini juga membuat Liputan6 SCTV melakukan transformasi dari televisi analog konvensional menjadi media berbasis digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi proses transformasi media konvensional televisi menjadi digital di era konvergensi media. Penelitian ini mengadopsi paradigma konstruktivis untuk mengkaji fenomena transformasi media dari konvensional ke digital di era konvergensi media yang sedang berlangsung di Liputan6 SCTV yang menjadi fokus penelitian. Pendekatan kualitatif juga digunakan untuk menjelaskan dan menafsirkan fenomena ini melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam dengan beberapa informan penelitian, dan analisis berbagai dokumen. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa Liputan 6 SCTV berhasil melakukan transformasi media dari konvensional ke digital, terbukti dengan transformasi departmen media digital. Transformasi ini juga memunculkan media baru, seperti Youtube Liputan6 SCTV dan platform media sosial yang saling terhubung. The emergence of the internet in the digital era has compelled television media to adapt in order to remain relevant. Television viewers have increasingly chosen to watch TV programs through internet networks on their smartphones. This phenomenon has prompted Liputan6 SCTV to transform from conventional analog television into a digital-based media. This study aims to explore the process of transforming conventional television media into digital media in the era of media convergence. The research adopts a constructivist paradigm to examine the ongoing media transformation from conventional to digital at Liputan6 SCTV, which is the focus of the study. A qualitative approach is used to describe and interpret this phenomenon through observation, in-depth interviews with several research informants, and analysis of various documents. The results indicate that Liputan6 SCTV has successfully transformed from conventional to digital media, as evidenced by the transformation of its digital media department. This transformation has also led to the emergence of new media, such as the Liputan6 SCTV YouTube channel and interconnected social media platforms.
