Abstract

The industrial sector is one of the largest consumers of fossil energy use by 46%, while fossil energy reserves have decreased every year since 2012, this makes the government require a policy for energy management for industrial sector energy users in large quantities (> 4000 toe) as stated in Government Regulation No. 70 of 2009. In 2023 there will be an increase in consumption and prices of natural gas (fossil energy) for boiler fuel, so that the company experiences a significant increase in costs. The purpose of this study is to analyze boiler efficiency against natural gas consumption, as well as to analyze boiler energy savings to be more efficient. Boiler efficiency calculations are carried out using direct and indirect methods (directindirect) to analyze the root causes of low efficiency values. Based on the results of boiler efficiency calculations, the efficiency value using direct and indirect methods is 74.23% and 78.79% with the largest losses occurring due to evaporation of water content causing
