Abstract

The survival of life at this time cannot be separated from the availability of energy sources. However, the continuous use of energy which results in the availability of energy sources is running low. Like the wind which has an unlimited source of energy depending on the region which can be utilized using the Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (TASH). In this research process, designing a TASH prototype using a four-blade type related to the effect of adding a gearbox to the TASH turbine. The method used for this research is a field test on the shore of Muara Baru, North Jakarta because it has sufficient wind potential. Tests were carried out with variations in wind speed from 4 m / s to 5.5 m / s. The purpose of this performance is to determine how effective the TASH turbine is. The purpose of this performance is to find out how effective the turbine rotation is using a gearbox and the addition of fins and without fins on each blade. TASH performance is assessed using parameters such as power value, torque value, and rotor speed and analyzed coefficient power (Cp), coefficient Torque (Ct), and Tip Speed Ratio TSR. The test results are presented in the table, then analysis and calculation of the parameter results are carried out. From the test results, the effective value without fins (Cp) and TSR at a speed of 5 m / s with a rotational speed of 185 rpm with (Ct) 0.187. Tujuan kinerja ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif putaran turbin menggunakan gearbook serta penambahan sirip dan tanpa sirip pada setiap blade. Kinerja TASH dinilai menggunakan parameter seperti nilai daya, nilai torsi dan kecepatan rotor serta dianalisa coefficient power (Cp), coefficient Torque (Ct), dan Tip Speed Ratio TSR. Hasil pengujian disajiakan pada tabel , kemudian dilakukan analisis dan perhitungan terhadap hasil parameter tersebut. Dari hasil uji coba didapatkan nilai efektif tanpa sirip (Cp) dan TSR pada kecepatan 4m/s dengan kecepatan putar 185rpm dengan (Ct) 0,310 Sedangkan nila (Cp) dan TSR pada kecepatan 4m/s adalah 0,173 dan 0,5580.
