Abstract

This study analyzes the reception of the role of fathers and children in TikTok videos of @Shabiraalulaadnan account, especially in the video “Dad Reprimands Shabira.” Using a reception analysis method with a qualitative approach and Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding theory, this study examines the followers' acceptance of the communication patterns between fathers and daughters, especially in the aspects of openness, care, and support. As a result, the majority of informants were in the dominant hegemony position, supporting the loving and open parenting methods shown in the video. However, some informants were in a negotiated position, especially regarding the caring aspect. This research shows that TikTok can shape public perceptions of ideal parenting and provide practical insights for parents. Penelitian ini menganalisis resepsi peran ayah dan anak dalam video TikTok akun @Shabiraalulaadnan, terutama pada video "Ayah Menegur Shabira." Menggunakan metode analisis resepsi dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan teori encoding-decoding Stuart Hall, penelitian ini mengkaji penerimaan pengikut akun tersebut terhadap pola komunikasi antara ayah dan anak, khususnya dalam aspek keterbukaan, kepedulian, dan dukungan. Hasilnya, mayoritas informan berada pada posisi hegemoni dominan, mendukung metode pengasuhan yang penuh kasih dan terbuka yang ditampilkan dalam video. Namun, beberapa informan berada pada posisi negosiasi, terutama terkait aspek kepedulian. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa TikTok dapat membentuk persepsi publik tentang pola asuh ideal dan memberikan wawasan praktis bagi orang tua.
