Abstract
The total market value of the game industry in Indonesia is US$ 1.92 Billion or equivalent to 25 trillion rupiah. However, the Indonesian game industry market is dominated by foreign developers, leaving only approximately 0.49% of the total revenue in the sector for local players. This is unfortunate considering the significant potential of the Indonesian game industry, which should have the opportunity to contribute to the national economy through foreign exchange earnings. The objective of this research is to map the actors, analyze the value chain, and identify appropriate strategies to enhance the mobile game industry in Indonesia. This qualitative research employs industrial cluster analysis techniques. The research findings reveal a mapping of the game industry cluster value chain actors, consisting of the Core Industry, User Industry, Supplier Industry, Supporting Industry, Supporting Institutions, and Related Industries. The research also identifies challenges faced by the industry, such as the scarcity of qualified human resources, limited access to capital, minimal domestic contribution to the game market, and inadequate infrastructure despite the promising growth potential. Several alternative strategies have emerged to support the acceleration program for the game industry in the country, including human resource development, opening access to financing and capital, increasing promotion and opening access to the national game market, as well as providing adequate and competitive technological infrastructure. Total nilai pasar pada industri gim di Indonesia adalah sebesar US$ 1,92 Miliar atau senilai 25 triliun rupiah. Namun, pasar industri gim di Indonesia didominasi oleh developer asing dan hanya menyisakan sebesar kurang lebih 0,49% dari total pendapatan di sektor tersebut. Hal ini disayangkan mengingat potensi besar dalam industri gim Indonesia yang seharusnya memiliki peluang untuk membantu perekonomian nasional melalui pendapatan devisa negara kurang dapat dimaksimalkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk dapat memetakan pelaku, menganalisis rantai nilai, dan menemukan formulasi strategi yang tepat untuk dapat meningkatkan industri gim mobile di Indonesia. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan teknik analisa klaster industri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemetaan pelaku rantai nilai klaster industri gim yang terdiri dari Industri Inti, Industri Pengguna, Industri Pemasok, Industri Pendukung, Institusi Pendukung dan Industri Terkait. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi tantangan yang dihadapi seperti minimnya sumber daya manusia berkualitas, minimnya akses modal, minimnya kontribusi dalam negeri dalam pasar gim, dan kurangnya infrastruktur yang memadai meskipun potensi perkembangannya cukup baik. Sejumlah strategi alternatifpun muncul untuk mendukung program percepatan industri gim ditanah air, seperti pengembangan sumber daya manusia, pembukaan akses pembiayaan dan permodalan, peningkatan promosi dan pembukaan akses pasar gim nasional, serta penyediaan infrastruktur teknologi yang memadai dan kompetitif.
