Abstract

A director is a creator who creates or creates creative forms in a film product. In the production process of the film "My Happy Brother" the writer as director uses the directing techniques of screen direction and mise en scene in making this film. This screen direction technique is used to attract or directs the audience's attention to the visuals displayed in this film. The results obtained by the author after applying the Screen direction and Mise en scene techniques in the film "My Happy Brother" were very effective in conveying the message and strengthening the message the director wanted to convey, the audience responded emotionally to the visuals and atmosphere created, which helped To increase the awareness of a younger sibling who has to look after his older sibling who is deaf, the correct placement of actors and objects in the frame can create a dramatic atmosphere so that the audience can understand the message the director wants to convey. Based on the title of the film "My Happy Brother", it is inspired by a true story. This film tells the story of a girl who lives a simple life. However, their parents gave him the mandate to be a protector and companion for his older brother who has a disability, namely being semi-deaf. Keywords : Film, Director, Screen Direction, Mise en Scene Sutradara adalah seorang kreator yang mengcreate atau menciptakan kreasi bentuk pada sebuah produk film.Dalam proses produksi film ”My Happy Brother” Penulis sebagai sutradara menggunakan teknik penyutradaraan Screen direction dan Mise en scene dalam pembuatan film ini.teknik screen direction ini di gunakan untuk menarik atau mengarahkan perhatian penonton terhadap visual visual yang di tampailkan dalam film ini. Hasil yang di dapatkan penulis setelah menerapkan teknik Screen direction dan Mise en scene dalam film “My Happy Brother” sangatlah efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan serta memperkuat pesan yang ingin di sampaikan oleh sutradara, penonton merespon secara emosional terhadap visual serta suana yang di buat, yang membatu untuk meningkatkan kesadaran seorang adik yang harus menjaga kakanya yang mengalami tuna rungu, penempatan aktor serta objek di dalam Frame yang tepat dapat menciptakan suana yang dramatis sehingga penonton dapat mengerti mengenai pesan yang ingin di sampaikan oleh sutradara. Berdasarkan judul film “My Happy Brother” ini terinspirasi dari kisah nyata yang ada, di dalam film ini akan menceritakan tentang seorang anak perempuan yang menjalani kehidupan sederhana. Namun, orang tua mereka memberikan amanah kepadanya untuk menjadi pelindung dan pendamping terhadap kakaknya yang memiliki penyandang disabilitas tersebut yaitu semi tuna rungu.
