Abstract

Architectural critic Charles Jenks introduced a theory that contains various design methods/ways to develop and implement architecture which is called contemporary architecture. This theory is the basis of contemporary architecture, where this theory depends on many factors that influence the period of a particular architectural style. The Islamic Center's design was motivated by the potential of the area. One sector that supports the economy of a region is tourism, because it can be used as a symbol or characteristic of that region. The more tourist attractions in an area that are managed by the government, the better it is for the development of the economy in that area. Based on the data obtained, Bogor Regency has excellent potential if an Islamic Center is established as an Islamic center, because it reviews regional development in realizing the vision of "Bogor Regency is Advanced and Prosperous Based on Faith and Piety". This needs to be supported by the commitment of strong and democratic regional leadership, consistency of government policy, alignment with the people, and active participation of the community and business world. Kritikus arsitektur Charles Jenks memperkenalkan suatu teori yang terdapat berbagai macam metode/cara perancangan untuk mengembangkan dan menerapkan arsitektur yang dinamakan dengan arsitektur kontemporer, teori inilah yang menjadi dasar arsitektur kontemporer, dimana teori ini bergantung pada banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi masa gaya arsitektur tertentu. Perancangan Islamic Center ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya potensi dari daerah tersebut. Salah satu sektor pendukung perekonomian suatu daerah adalah di bidang pariwisata, karena mampu dijadikan lambang atau ciri khas dari daerah tersebut. Semakin banyak objek wisata di suatu daerah yang dikelola oleh pemerintah maka semakin bagus untuk berkembangnya perekonomian di daerah tersebut. Berdasarkan data yang didapat, Kabupaten Bogor memiliki potensi yang sangat baik apabila didirikan Islamic Center sebagai pusat keislaman, karena meninjau dari pembangunan daerah dalam mewujudkan visi “Kabupaten Bogor Maju dan Sejahtera Berlandaskan Iman dan Takwa“. Hal tersebut perlu didukung oleh komitmen dari kepemimpinan daerah yang kuat dan demokratis, konsistensi kebijakan pemerintah, keberpihakan kepada rakyat, dan peran serta masyarakat dan dunia usaha secara aktif.
