Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hambatan komunikasi antarbudaya yang terjadi di perusahaan Limin Marine and Offshore. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis hambatan komunikasi antarbudaya karyawan perusahaan Limin Marine and Offshore. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan teknik purposive sampling (bertujuan) untuk pemilihan subjek, dengan jumlah informan sebanyak 5 (lima) orang karyawan. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah sumber data primer dan data sekunder yang berkaitan dengan situasi dan kondisi empiris. Wawancara dan dokumentasi guna memperoleh data primer mengenai penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah adanya hambatan bagi para karyawan Perusahaan Limin Marine and Offshore dalam berinterkasi komunikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada perusahaan Limin Marine and Offshore hal tersebut tidak menyebabkan adanya suatu kubu tersendiri. Sifat saling mau memahami dan belajar untuk perbedaan budaya, dan juga sifat tidak malu untuk bertanya pada hal yang tidak dimengerti menjadi point plus pada karyawan perusahaan Limin Marine and Offshore, sehingga dapat terjadinya keberhasilan dalam berkomunikasi walaupun berbeda adat dan budaya. This research is motivated by intercultural communication barriers occurring at Limin Marine and Offshore company. The aim of this study is to describe and analyze the intercultural communication barriers among employees at Limin Marine and Offshore company. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. In this study, the author employed purposive sampling technique for subject selection, with a total of 5 (five) employees as informants. The data sources used include primary data and secondary data related to empirical situations and conditions. Interviews and documentation were conducted to obtain primary data about whether there are communication barriers for employees of Limin Marine and Offshore company. The results of the research indicate that in Limin Marine and Offshore company, this situation does not lead to the formation of separate groups. The willingness to understand and learn about cultural differences, as well as the openness to asking questions about things not understood, are positive aspects among the employees of Limin Marine and Offshore company. This contributes to successful communication despite differences in customs and cultures.
