Abstract

Perkembangan media sosial telah memberikan dampak signifikan pada cara individu membentuk dan memelihara citra diri di ruang publik, termasuk di kalangan selebriti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis personal branding Yuki Kato melalui akun Instagram @yukikt serta bagaimana khalayak memaknai pesan yang disampaikan melalui akun tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori resepsi Stuart Hall yang memfokuskan pada pemaknaan pesan oleh khalayak melalui proses decoding dengan tiga posisi penerimaan yaitu dominan, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Paradigma penelitian ini menggunakan konstruktivisme dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode analisis resepsi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan delapan informan yang merupakan pengikut akun Instagram @yukikt sebagai data primer, serta dokumentasi dan tinjauan literatur sebagai data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat berbagai kategori pemaknaan yang muncul dari informan terkait personal branding Yuki Kato di Instagram, dengan mayoritas berada pada kategori dominan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa khalayak cenderung menerima dan memahami personal branding yang dibangun oleh Yuki Kato dengan baik. The development of social media has significantly impacted how individuals create and maintain their public image, including among celebrities. This study aims to analyze Yuki Kato's personal branding through her Instagram account @yukikt and how the audience interprets the messages conveyed through this account. This research utilizes Stuart Hall's reception theory, focusing on audience decoding of messages with three positions of reception dominant, negotiation, and opposition. The research paradigm uses constructivism with a qualitative approach and reception analysis method. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews with several informants who follow the Instagram account @yukikt as primary data, along with documentation and literature review as secondary data. The results indicate various categories of interpretation from the informants regarding Yuki Kato's personal branding on Instagram, with the majority falling into the dominant category. This suggests that the audience generally accepts and understands Yuki Kato's personal branding well.
