Abstract
The development of the manufacturing industry in Indonesia from year to year has progressed very rapidly, one of which is plastic-based manufacturing, PT Bintang Mitra Niaga isthe companies operating in the field of plastic-based manufacturing. To overcome product quality problems, the research aims to identify factors that cause product defects, as well as provide suggestions for improvements using the SPC (Statistical Processing Control) and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) methods. At the analysis stage, researchers use tools to find the dominant type of defect and find the root cause using the SPC method which consists of 2 quality control tools, namely Check Sheet and Cause and Effect Diagram (Fishbone Diagram) and is strengthened using the FTA method. The results of the research in the period October-December 2023 showed that the highest level of damage was the Flasing dipper with a total of 481 defective products. Researchers use action methods that must be carried out, namely implementing SOPs correctly, regular maintenance and carrying out special supervision of production machines as well as training for operators regarding production machines, of the total defects in OctoberDecember 2023 amounting to 3.96% after research was carried out and implementation was carried out in actualization According to the results of the method used, the results obtained from January-June 2024 were 0.96% or experienced a decrease in defects of 3.00%, which has reached the company's expectations and standards because for dipper production the maximum defect allowed is only 1.5%. Keywords: Dipper, Check Sheet, Fisbhone, SPC, FTA Perkembangan industri manufaktur di Indonesia dari tahun ke tahun mengalami kemajuan yang sangat pesat salah satunya adalah manufaktur berbahan dasar plastik, PT Bintang Mitra Niaga merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufacturing berbahan dasar plastik. Untuk mengatasi masalah kualitas produk, penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab defect produk, serta memberikan usulan perbaikan dengan menggunakan metode SPC (Statistical Processing Control) dan FTA (Fault Tree Analysis).Pada tahapan analisis peneliti menggunakan alat bantu untuk mencari jenis cacat yang dominan serta mencari akar penyebabnya menggunakan Metode SPC yang terdiri dari 2 tool pengendalian kualitas, yaitu Check Sheet dan Diagram Sebab-akibat (Fishbone Diagram) serta diperkuat menggunakan metode FTA. Hasil penelitian pada periode bulan OktoberDesember 2023 menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kerusakan tertinggi adalah gayung Flasing dengan total kerusakan sebanyak 481 produk cacat. Peneliti menggunakan metode tindakan yang harus dilakukan yaitu penerapan SOP secara tepat, perawatan secara berkala dan dilakukannya pengawasan khusus terhadap mesin produksi serta pelatihan kepada operator mengenai mesin produksi, dari total defect bulan Oktober-Desember 2023 sebesar 3.96% setelah dilakukan penelitian dan dilakukan penerapan pada actualisasi sesuai hasil dari metode yang digunakan maka diperoleh hasil dari bulan Januari-Juni 2024 sebesar 0.96% atau mengalamai penurunan defect sebesar 3.00% dimana hal ini sudah mencapai harapan dan standarisasi perusahan karena untuk produksi gayung maksimal defect yang dibolehkan hanyalah 1.5%.
