Abstract

The wooden furniture industry in Indonesia plays a crucial role in the national economy due to its ability to absorb a large workforce. One national furniture company in Cikarang has a productivity rate of 70.03%, below the national average of 74.16%. This study aims to determine the current level of production utility, develop strategies to increase productivity and implement the proposed solutions. The methodology used in this research is Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to visualize and analyze the production process flow of furniture in order to identify potential causes of waste or operational inefficiencies, and the application of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using the 5W1H method to eliminate the root causes of problems in the furniture production process. The study results indicate that the production utility level before improvements was 108.67%, indicating that the current production facilities operate at maximum capacity. The study successfully identified the largest sources of waste in Movement, Over Production, and Waiting. Significant improvements were achieved by implementing a new Batch Process of 50 sets, procuring four units of CNC Cutting Machines for Leather and Fabric, three units of CNC Cutting Machines for Woodworking, and adding 43 operators. The Lead Time Process was reduced to 8.01 days from the previous 11.98 days, and the total Cycle Time was reduced to 850 minutes from the previous 1,068 minutes. Productivity increased from an average of 70.03% to 92.38%, a rise of 22.35%, and the cost-to-revenue ratio was IDR.674,406,962.80, generating a revenue contribution of IDR.190,277,737,037.20. Industri furnitur kayu di Indonesia memiliki peranan penting dalam ekonomi nasional dikarenakan mampu menyerap tenaga kerja dalam jumlah besar. Salah satu perusahaan furniture nasional yang berada di daerah cikarang memiliki produktivitas sebesar 70,03% atau di bawah rata-rata nasional sebesar 74,16%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat utilitas produksi saat ini dan strategi dalam meningkatkan tingkat produktivitas beserta implementasi solusi yang dilakukan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Value Stream Mapping (VSM) dalam memvisualisasikan dan menganalisis alur proses produksi furnitur untuk mengetahui potensi penyebab waste atau pemborosan operasional proses produksi serta penerapan pendekatan Root Cause Analysis (RCA) berupa metode 5W1H untuk menghilangkan akar penyebab masalah pada proses produksi furnitur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat utilitas produksi sebelum dilakukan perbaikan adalah sebesar 108,67% yang mengindikasikan bahwa fasilitas produksi saat ini sudah dalam posisi maksimal. Penelitian ini berhasil melakukan identifikasi waste terbesar pada Movement, Over Production dan Waiting. Dengan melakukan perubahan Batch Process baru sebanyak 50 set, pengadaan Mesin CNC Cutting for Leather and Fabric sebanyak 4 unit, pengadaan Mesin CNC Cutting for Woodworking sebanyak 3 unit serta penambahan operator sebanyak 43 orang didapatkan perbaikan signifikan pada Lead Time Process menjadi 8,01 hari dari sebelumnya 11,98 hari dan total Cycle Time produksi menjadi 850 menit dari sebelumnya 1.068 menit; produktivitas meningkat dari rata-rata 70,03% menjadi 92,38% atau terjadi kenaikan sebesar 22,35% serta rasio biaya terhadap revenue yang dihasilkan adalah sebesar Rp.674.406.962,80 menghasilkan kontibusi pendapatan sebesar Rp.190.277.737.037,20.
