Abstract

Higher education institutions in Indonesia are currently confronted with significant challenges, including competition among state universities (PTN), private universities (PTS), and international universities. To maintain public trust, these institutions must adhere to autonomy, transparency, accountability, quality assurance, and quality improvement standards. This research aims to identify and address the unmet quality aspects in education to elevate the accreditation of private universities from C/Good to B/Very Good or even A/Excellent. By integrating the EduQual model with certification requirements from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), the research is supported by comprehensive studies of university accreditation reports, questionnaires, focus group discussions (FGD), and expert judgment through interviews and consultations. The data analysis employs gap analysis, critical performance analysis (IPA), and quality function deployment (QFD). The study identified twenty-one priority improvement points to enhance accreditation, with six key improvements prioritized from the ninety indicators examined based on customer needs analysis. Lembaga pendidikan tinggi di Indonesia saat ini dihadapkan pada tantangan signifikan, termasuk persaingan antara perguruan tinggi negeri (PTN), perguruan tinggi swasta (PTS), dan perguruan tinggi internasional. Untuk mempertahankan kepercayaan publik, lembaga-lembaga ini harus mematuhi standar otonomi, transparansi, akuntabilitas, jaminan kualitas, dan peningkatan kualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengatasi aspek kualitas yang belum terpenuhi dalam pendidikan guna meningkatkan akreditasi perguruan tinggi swasta dari C/Baik menjadi B/Sangat Baik atau bahkan A/Excellent. Dengan mengintegrasikan model EduQual dengan persyaratan sertifikasi dari Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT), penelitian ini didukung oleh studi komprehensif terhadap laporan akreditasi universitas, kuesioner, diskusi kelompok terarah (FGD), dan penilaian ahli melalui wawancara serta konsultasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis kesenjangan, analisis kinerja kritis (IPA), dan quality function deployment (QFD). Studi ini mengidentifikasi dua puluh satu poin perbaikan prioritas untuk meningkatkan akreditasi, dengan enam perbaikan utama yang diprioritaskan dari sembilan puluh indikator yang diperiksa berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan pelanggan.
