Abstract

Along with the construction of apartments on Jl. Rasela, Gunung Sahari Utara, Central Jakarta adjacent to housing residents, created a very clear territory / territory boundary that is realized through the boundary wall of the apartment. Obviously with the existence of this boundary wall can affect the perception of housing residents whose living space is located and close to the boundary wall of the apartment. The existence of housing residents there first compared to the apartment that has now been separated by massive and high boundary walls. Clearly visible responses are permanent road closures and road use as residents' parking lots. This research uses inductive method, that is emphasis on observation first then draw conclusions based on these observations. Data collection was obtained from observation to seek response then with questionnaire and interview to find perception. The results of this study, based on observations, the responses shown by citizens against the boundary wall tend to residential communities take the road directly adjacent to the boundary wall of apartments as their private zone. Based on perceptions that arise related to the wall of the limit is quite diverse housing residents there who have negative perceptions also have a positive perception related to the boundary wall. While the factors that influence perception and response related wall boundary, such as height of boundary wall, cleanliness, and security. Rasela, Gunung Sahari Utara, Jakarta Pusat yang bersebelahan dengan perumahan warga, tercipta sebuah batas wilayah/teritori yang sangat jelas yang diwujudkan lewat dinding batas apartemen. Tentunya dengan keberadaan dinding batas ini dapat mempengaruhi persepsi warga perumahan yang ruang hidupnya berada dan dekat dengan tembok batas apartemen. Keberadaan perumahan warga lebih dulu ada dibanding dengan apartemen yang kini telah dipisahkan oleh dinding batas yang massif dan tinggi. Respon yang jelas terlihat adalah penutupan jalan secara permanen dan penggunaan jalan sebagai lahan parkir warga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode induktif, yaitu menekanan pada pengamatan dahulu lalu menarik kesimpulan berdasarkan pengamatan tersebut. Pengumpulan data didapat dari observasi untuk mencari respon kemudian dengan kuisioner dan wawancara untuk mencari persepsi. Hasil dari penelitian ini, berdasarkan pengamatan, respon yang ditunjukan oleh warga terhadap dinding batas cenderung masyarakat perumahan memanfaatkan jalan yang berbatasan langsung dengan dinding batas apartemen sebagai zona privat mereka. Berdasarkan persepsi yang muncul terkait dinding batas cukup beragam warga perumahan ada yang memiliki persepsi negatif juga ada yang memiliki persepsi positif terkait dinding batas. Sedangkan faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi dan respon terkait dinding batas, antara lain ketinggian dinding batas, kebersihan, dan keamanan.
