Abstract

Gedog Tuban weaving is a traditional cloth typical of the Tuban area of East Java specifically for the Kerek district. The fabric is made manually by spinning the thread until weavers processed using loom machines that produce the fabric with an uneven structure because the yarn is woven manually make this fabric look old-fashioned and primitive. Gedog weaving themselves generally produce products in the form of Jarit, Sayut, and as a medium of traditional Batik, which is referred to as Batik Gedog Tuban. Although the fabric looks primitive does not close the possibility of fabric can be applied as a base material or a combination in fashion products. One of them is Kurta, Kurta is the clothes with oversize style which originated from India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Known in 2018 in Indonesia and become the trend of the Muslims in that year. In this final report, the author developed the Gedog Tuban woven fabric for fashion products with the addition of the Kijing Miring Batik motif from the Tuban area as an implementation of the influence of Islamic culture in Tuban and in these motifs the terms of meaning in the application using machine embroidery techniques must first be developed or modified in order to be able to adjust the machine work system to produce motifs that are consistent with the combined Kurta pattern weaving Gedog Tuban. KEYWORD: Kurta, Gedog Tuban Woven, Kijing Miring Motif, Embroidery Machine Tenun gedog Tuban merupakan kain tradisional khas daerah Tuban Jawa Timur khusus kecamatan Kerek. Kain ini dibuat secara manual dari pemintalan benangnya sampai keproses penenunanya menggunakan alat tenun bukan mesin sehingga mengasilkan kain dengan struktur yang tidak merata karena benang yang dipintal secara manual menjadikan kain ini terlihat kuno dan primitif. Tenun gedog sendiri pada umumnya menghasilkan produk berupa kain jarit, sayut, dan sebagai media membatik tradisional yang disebut sebagai batik gedog Tuban. Walau seperti kain primitif tidak menutup kemungkinan kain bisa diaplikasikan sebagai bahan dasar atau kombinasi pada produk fashion. Seperti produk kurta ini, kurta merupakan pakain longgar asal India, Pakistan, dan Nepal dan masuk ke Indonesia dan menjadi trend muslim di tahun 2018. Dalam laporan ini penulis mengembangkan kain tenun gedog Tuban untuk produk fashion dengan penambahan motif Kijing miring batik dari deraah Tuban tersebut sebagai implemntasi pengaruh budaya Islam di Tuban dan dalam motif tersebut syarat makna yang didalam pengaplikasian menngunakan teknik bordir mesin terlebih dahulu harus dikembangkan atau dimodifikasi agar dapat menyesuaikan sistem kerja mesin untuk menghasilkan motif yang selaras pada pola kurta kombinasi tenun gedog Tuban.
