Abstract

This research aims to determine whether is a relation between emotional intelligence and resilience in adolescents who are responded to by parents in orphanages. The subjects in this study were 42 people / adolescents. Measuring instruments used in this study are emotional intelligence and resistance measuring instruments. After the researchers tested the two measuring instruments first, each of them has a reliability of 0.000 from the emotional intelligence measurement tool, and 0.827 from the resilience measuring instrument. The results of this study indicate a sig value of 0,371; p <0.05, which means that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience in adolescents who are responded to by parents in orphanages. The fixed value on the second variable is 0,273 which means it is not in the middle category and the relationship shows a positive direction, where the higher emotional intelligence, the higher the resilience, and vice versa. Key words: emotional intelligence, resilience. Penelitiaan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan kecerdasan emosi dengan resiliensi pada remaja yang ditinggalkan orang tua di panti asuhan. Jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 42 orang/remaja. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah alat ukur kecerdasan emosi dan alat ukur resiliensi. Setelah peneliti melakukan uji coba terlebih dahulu pada kedua alat ukur tersebut, masing-masing memiliki reliabilitas sebesar 0,723 dari alat ukur kecerdasan emosi, dan 0,827 dari alat ukur resiliensi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai sig 0,371; p<0,05 yang berarti bahwa ada hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan resiliensi pada remaja yang ditinggalkan orang tua di panti asuhan. Nilai korelasi pada kedua variabel sebesar 0,273 yang berarti korelasi berada di kategori sedang dan hubungan tersebut menunjukkan arah positif, di mana semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosi, maka semakin tinggi pula resiliensinya, begitu pula sebaliknya. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa adanya hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi dan resiliensi pada remaja awal di panti asuhan x. Kata kunci: kecerdasan emosi, resiliensi.
