Abstract

As the number of students at President University increased, it was discovered that the capacity of the dormitories was insufficient to accommodate the existing student quota. Therefore, studies need to be carried out to increase room capacity to accommodate these needs. In the process, steps were taken to increase the floors in the dormitory building from 4 floors to 5 floors. In planning, it is necessary to pay attention to aspects of safety and future resilience of the building due to the addition of the floor. With the aim of increasing the strengthening of the building, reinforcement was chosen using eccentric bracing with an inverted V configuration or Inverted V Braced. The choice of this type of bracing is based on the bracing's ability to distribute loads which makes plastic joints occur at the end of the beam link with the bracing and not near the building column. To test the stiffness and strength of this configuration, modeling was carried out using the SAP2000 program to display the internal forces at work, the drift between floors (story drift), and the displacement curve against the base shear. After obtaining the data, a comparison is carried out between building modeling with bracing and without bracing to determine the parameters being examined. A study was also carried out regarding the level of structural performance from the output of SAP2000 to determine the category of building performance level, whether modeling with bracing or without bracing. From the results of the performance level, the building's ability to withstand earthquake loads and the building's resistance to safety aspects will be known. Keywords : Inverted V Braced, Bracing, EBF, Story Drift, Pushover Seiring perkembangan bertambahnya jumlah mahasiswa di Universitas President, didapati bahwa kapasitas dari asrama tidak mencukupi untuk menampung kuota mahasiswa yang ada. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan kajian untuk melakukan pertambahan kapasitas kamar untuk mengakomodir kebutuhan tersebut. Dalam prosesnya, diambil langkah untuk melakukan pertambahan lantai pada gedung asrama yang sebelumnya 4 lantai menjadi 5 lantai. Dalam perencanaanya perlu diperhatikan aspek-aspek keselamatan dan ketahanan babngunan kedepannya karena adanya penambahan lantai tersebut. Dengan tujuam menambah perkuatan bangunan, dipilih perkuatan menggunakan Bracing eksentrik dengan konfigurasi V terbalik atau Inverted V Braced. Pemilihan bracing jenis ini didasarkan kepada kemampuan bracing dalam menyalurkan beban yang menjadikan sendi plastis terjadi di ujung link balok dengan bracing dan bukan di dekat kolom bangunan. Untuk menguji kekakuan dan kekuatan dari konfigurasi ini dilakukan pemodelan menggunakan program SAP2000 untuk menampilkan gaya dalam yang bekerja, simpangan antar lantai (story drift), dan kurva displacement terhadap baseshear. Setelah didapatkan data maka dilakukan perbandingan antara pemodelan bangunan dengan bracing dan tanpa bracing untuk mengetahui parameter-parameter yang diperiksa. Dilakukan juga kajian mengenai level kinerja struktur dari hasil output SAP2000 untuk mengetahui kategori level kinerja bangunan baik pemodelan dengan bracing ataupun tanpa bracing. Dari hasil level kinerja akan diketahui kemampuan bangunan dalam menerima beban gempa dan ketahanan bangunan terhadap aspek keselamatan.
